Hi all! When choosing a Junior College, do you think about which higher education institution you want to send your child to?
Yes, definitely. I would also consider and think about their possible career options.

I know its abit early but appreciate info on how the DSA for STEAM is conducted for entry to NJC.

Is there a written test or hands on project?
                  Or just an interview?
                  Thank you!

Hi, I am new to this forum. Child is P6 this year. Do students do English Literature in JH1-JH2? Or is the Language Arts a combination of English & Literature?

My child is strong in Math & Science, weaker in english. And she probably won’t like English Literature either.

NJC students typically take a Language Arts subject in their first two years of Junior College (JC1 and JC2). This subject is a combination of English Language and Literature, with a focus on developing skills in both areas.

In JC1, students will cover foundational skills in Language Arts, including essay writing, literary analysis, and critical thinking. They will also study a range of literary texts, including novels, plays, and poetry, from various genres and time periods.

In JC2, students will build on the skills and knowledge gained in JC1, with a more in-depth study of literature and an increased focus on writing skills. They will also have the opportunity to explore their own interests in literature through individual research projects and presentations.
