      Hi,

Can anyone share how is the current principal? Is she approachable? Has she changed anything since joining the school?

      Thank you

What about the subject combination currently offered to sec 3/ upper Express steam?

        Thank you!

        I want to know too

I hope you have gone to the open house yesterday to take a tour of the school.

We were tour guided by 2 students (Sec 3 and Sec 2), and both answered my questions very well.
Currently, they have 4 class x Express, 2 class x NA and 1 class x NT in the lower sec....the express stream will split to 5 class during the upper sec due to elective subject/ combination.

There isn't principle/ vp talk during the open house. Nor they were present at the school.
Spoken to the Year Head - the current principal has been with them for 2 years, indeed is stricter than the previous.
I'd also spoken to the alumnis who came back to help. They shared good experiences and memories and didn't have much issue with the more challenging students (in terms of behaviour) as these students will be dealt with by the school accordingly.

Do note that CCA Girl Guides will no longer be available 2019 due to insufficient signups.
Punctuality of work submission is expected and personal grooming is checked every morning.
All CCA are conducted twice a week on fixed day (3 - 5/6pm)

And they have a new sports building.

Do visit their school website as they may have he information that you needed.

        Hope this helps.

as the school is next to the MRT train track, may I know if it's very noisy when the train by-pass?
Nope, it's pretty quiet, the only noise we get is the usual noise from jets, airplanes etc.

Yep she's strict but approachable if you're not someone who bends the rules, she offers very sage advice!
Discipline has gotten a lot stricter since she joined the school, handphone usage is very controlled, e.g. we can only use in 4 approved areas: canteen, foyer, sports area and study pavillion cos it's separating the classes and our 'play' areas

for the subject combinations, it changes every year, e.g. for the sec 3 batch 2019, they didn't get triple science offered cos a lot of sec4s in that combination burnout and end up dropping to combined science or double pure.
            the current combinations offered are:
pure physics and pure chemistry, a math
pure chemistry and pure bio, a math
            principles of accounts and amath
            drama and poa
            pure geog and poa
            art and poa
for the last three combinations, they are all in one class cos minority will choose from these combinations, drama only has less than 10 students, i believe. but first 3 get their own classes.
the slides for the subject combination briefing might be on the website, better check first 😄

Does anyone has a rough idea how is the dismissal time like?

I noticed some schools practice fixed dismissal time like 2.45pm except on CCA days
and some set very early dismissal days on certain day etc.

Yes, what u said is true

Triple Science is a very, very heavy combination.

On top of this, still got to handle the compulsory ( Social studies & Combined Humanities, History / Geography ).
That's why come to end of Sec 3, some students decided to drop Triple Science, to Double Science combination instead, to alleviate burden
