May I ask how is the batch of p6 girls from St nicks primary? Thought it may give us some idea of how the culture (e.g., friendly, encouraging, bullying cases?..) would be for secondary esp IP and OP are mixed for cca…

2022 PSLE Cut off point (born 2010)

        IP : 7 (Merit)

        O-level :

        8 (for Non-affliates)

        14 (for Affliates)

        ===========================

        For the O-level track -

even if u have never taken Higher Chinese (PSLE), it is all right.
O-level track : no need HCL.

        Our O-level track, offers flexibility.

From past batches’ historical experience -

        1)

        there had been cases of
Sec 1 students who never took PSLE (HCL),
        but

they did well in pu-hua (Standard Chinese) as well as in other core subjects, overall.
So, in January Sec 2 Term 1,
these pupils were offered by our school to do gao hua (HCL).
And they proceeded to sit for O-level (pu-hua) in November, at end of their Sec 3.

        2)

At end of Sec 2 last year (2021),
some students have migrated from the O-level track into IP,
starting Sec 3 (IP), 2022 (this year).

        At end of Sec 2,
these students have made up their mind, decided to join Eunoia Junior College in Year 5 for their A-level, by-passed O-level.

So, if u join O-level here, doesn’t mean that u are forever stuck inside the O-level track. Two years later, whether u still prefer to remain or change, still can make changes later on. By then, 2 years later, your thinking is more mature, stable. The choice, is yours.

our O-level (pu-hua) Chinese results will be out,

          tentatively around
Thursday (12 January, 2023), next year,

          for 2022 Sec 3 O-level students (born 2007)
          who have taken pu-hua
          on 8 November, 2022

May I ask for transfer from o level to IP in Sec 3, is this only for very exceptional students or there is a good percentage that do cross over?

Also, are the Sec 1 girls streamed in classes by their psle scores? Thank you for your kind input!

              For O-level track-
              Sec 1 \"Charity\" class,

is for students studying MEP (Music Elective programme).

              The rest,
              are randomly distributed.
Not based on any Psle score.
Each class has a good mix of both (primary school affliated + external Non-affliated) students.

                At end of Sec 1,
if u are interested to transfer across into IP track, can inform VP Academic in charge (Ms Baey Ee Lyn), let her know in advance of your interest. She is the VP, overall in charge of both (IP and O-level) curriculum.

The actual transfer will take place only at the end of Sec 2, starting Sec 3 IP, not at end of Sec 1.
                However,
VP can give advise earlier so that u are mentally prepared, if one is really keen to transfer into IP, at end of Sec 2.

                  For O level track -

For 2023 Sec 3 OP students,
born in 2008, refering to your booklist content,

                  1) you will be using the latest 3rd edition, for Double / Triple Science textbooks.

                  The cover page
                  for Marshall Cavendish latest printed
                  \" 3rd \" edition Textbooks
for Sec 3 (Physics Matters / Chemistry Matters / Biology Matters),
have got very lovely front page cover picture, so cute and so sweet looking ! 😀

                  2) you guys will also be using
a brand new Social Studies (SS) latest published textbook,
with a very beautiful and colorful front page cover, too !
Some more, a thinner book now, as compared to that huge big, chunky, so heavy SS textbook, last time.

( can visit any Popular branch bookstore, to take a look at these latest newly published Science + SS textbooks. )
