The effect of less tiger babies compare to other years.
Saw from the school website and there are only 7 classes for next year sec 1. One class lesser than 2022. You may also refer to the website for your child's sec 1 class form teachers. -

If refer history,
Just to find out, is GMSS used to be a girls school like Fairfield Methodist?
this school was founded in the year 1924. Back then in those olden days, class only got 27 girls, inside this whole school. Then, Japanese world war occupation came, attacked Singapore and disrupted our girls' education.
60 years later from year 1924,
in that year 1984,
Geylang Methodist Secondary school (GMSS) became a \"co-ed\" school, started to take in enrollmemt of boys.

============================
The current school Principal in GMSS is Mr Victor Owyong.
He became the Principal one year ago, on 15 December 2021.
Before that,
he was the Principal of PHS (Presbyterian High), for quite a period of time.

I just read the link you shared, indeed it used to be a girl school. That means unlike the IJ schools, some methodist schools have to become co-ed to improve enrollment.
