Methodist Girls' School (Primary)
-
Going forward into year 2030,
another seven more years from today (2023)
ACS primary is turning co-ed, so girls can study in ACS primary school too,
no need to ballot desperately under Phase 2B, just to join MGS primary (at 11 Blackmore Drive)
And
NO need to buy anymore condo less than 1 km, from your current location at 11 Blackmore drive
Because
ACS (Primary) to move from Barker Road to Tengah and become a co-ed school from 2030

Another key question is
With effect from 2030 onwards,
will MGS (Blackmore drive) still remain here in its existing location
OR
also shift to Tengah ?
Why ?
Because
since history started many years ago under the Methodist denomination, everyone know that MGS is the "sister" school for ACS boys
OR
know that ACS is the "brother" school for MGS girls’ school ?
Just look at the affliated IB programme,
from Year 5 onwards, where IB (girls and boys) study altogether inside the same ACSI -
Will this Tengah ACS co-ed school consider affilliated to MGF secondary school?
-
have to wait for MGS Principal to announce the impact, to all parents & students in MGS,
esp.
where affliation to the O-level track, is concerned -

I have no idea whether they are planning a move, but historically, MGS and ACS have never been co-located. And when ACS had Pre-U classes (before ACJC was opened), girls would join at that point, but the schools were never co-located. And there are really very few meaningful brother-sister ties now - in my day, younger brothers of MGS students could apply to enter P1 in ACS under the earliest phase, but that was discontinued at some point. Other collaborations, if any, can still continue as they have in the past without co-location.

Whether MGS will move or not, I haven't a clue. And I have no emotional ties to the current location as I was never a student there. But the decision shouldn't be made on historical grounds. -
Hi
MOE advocates all schools are good schools. Putting ACSP in a new neighbourhood Tengah is a good start. I hope they continue to diversify the school demographics to cater to families who are not living in the prime district area in the city. -
So,
for parents who enrol their children from 2030 P1 intake onwards (born in year 2023) -
joining ACS (Tengah) primary will only benefit the boys, but not the girls, since
- boys still have affliation to O-level track (ACS Secondary).
But,
no obvious benefit nor any advantage to the girls,
since NO affliation to the O-level track (Methodist Girls' Secondary, @ Blackmore drive)
