With the shock development that ACSP has to relocate to Tengah, I think anything can happen now, really up to MOE to decide.
I feel that RGPS is quite vulnerable given that it is sandwiched between two other girls schools nearby (MGS Pri and SCGS Pri) plus there’s another GEP centre (NYPS) that is just 5 mins away. Who knows, it could well be the next one to be relocated to Punggol/Sengkang area and ‘advised’ to go co-ed as well.
RGPS reminded me of that once upon a time, an \"All Girls\" primary school that turned co-ed too, recently.
That school, called \"Cannosa Catholic\" primary school, located at 1 Salim Road, in Macpherson / Aljunied area.
Years ago,
this \"All Girls\" school used to have 4 or 5 primary 1 classes.
After that, this school turned co-ed, started taking in boys, as well.
So, if RGPS one day were to become co-ed, then will not be the first case.

To expand fairness as much possible, is not to bring the opportunity to as many families as possible? Newton or Tengah, has more families?
Some parents apparently cried foul as to why they are the ones who need to move out of current compound for ACSJ to move in to take over. Implication is that their sons and grandsons of ACSP alumni will have to stay in Tengah because if they don’t stay within 2km of the school, they may not get in as phase 2A is getting more and more competitive. -

From my understanding, it seems like ACS parents generally have no objection to open another school called ACS Tengah and this ACS Tengah can go co-ed.

Implication is that their sons and grandsons of ACSP alumni will have to stay in Tengah because if they don’t stay within 2km of the school, they may not get in as phase 2A is getting more and more competitive.
ACSP will become like another 2nd St Nick. In that just like St Nick being surrounded by HDB flats neighbourhood, ACSP (Tengah) also the same ?
For St Nick (Phase 2A), a Full school,
balloting arose, can recall, is it within 1 km ?
But then, St Nick is a Full school, different.
For ACSP (Tengah) Phase 2A,
since is not a Full school,
balloting may possibly arise, say, within (1 to 2) km ?
Cannot be balloting arise, outside 2 km, for Phase 2A (ACSP).
That means,
ACSP alumni fathers will still need to shift closer towards Tengal, within 1 to 2 km, if they want to continue enjoy Phase 2A privilege. -
Maybe in 2036, they will move ACSI there as well and make it co-ed. Who knows…Whatever it is, I still don’t get the point of moving the GEP school. GEP pupils can come from any nick and corner. No point having the school so remote and discomforting majority. Also, I believe ACSP BR will still take GE pupils between 2030-2032 apart from just siblings of current pupils. ACSP T can only offer GEP from 2033 onwards, right. Then from 2033, those GE P5/P6 pupils will move to ACSJ as well?! So confusing and complicated and so sad for those last few batches - won’t be able to enjoy the full school…

Forum: Keep ACS (Primary) an all-boys school
One overriding mission of a Christian school such as Anglo-Chinese School (ACS) is to serve
communities. Hence, the move to Tengah appears to be the right and proper thing to do (ACS
(Primary) to move to Tengah, take in girls from 2030, Feb 10).
I am, however, against the decision to make this new school co-ed.
Many outstanding leaders of this country – both male and female – were schooled in singlegender schools. Many parents also prefer to have their children attend single-gender schools,
especially in primary school.
The decision should need to be backed by research on the superiority of co-ed schools over
single-gender schools in terms of pedagogical and educational outcomes.
Such information should also be made known to the public so that parents and communities can
make informed decisions on selecting the most appropriate schools for their young children.
ACS has a proud tradition and great record of running schools for boys at the primary and
secondary levels.
Its long and illustrious history and traditions are treasured by its alumni.
News of the change has been an emotive issue for many of them.
I ask that ACS be allowed to preserve its all-boys status.

MGS has always been linked to, associated with ACS. Now, got another new group of girls coming in.

Moving out of Barker is not going to level the playing field. It just makes it less convenient for some parents, less reason to brag about ACS Tengah, and allows privileged children to familiarize themselves with HDB estate.
In terms of enrollment, there will not be much of a difference because ACS alumni will still get to secure a place for ahead of others in P2C. What may change of course is that under 2C, we will see more applicants from 1km HDB neighborhood. But it will not be many because 1) Well to do family will buy or rent. 2) There will likely be only 40 places left for P2C balloting even with an enlarged cohort because Alumni daughters will secure a place ahead of 2C

Those alumni, staying more than 2 km away, can still continue to enjoy Phase 2 privilege, continue to enrol their K2 son.
But after shift to Tengah -

wiser to shift to less than 2 km from ACSP (Tengah), because balloting likely to take place within 2 km, for SC boys, in the initial beginning first year maiden flight take off in 2029 P1 June registration, for 2030 P1 intake.
However, slowly, gradually, as time passes by, into another few more decade from 2030,
slowly one day, under Phase 2, balloting for ACSP (Tengah) will behave like another St Nick (Phase 2) one day, SC will also ballot less than 1 km away. -

- how big can spore be. Have my chauffeur start driving my child to Tengah 20min earlier

Are you referring to the current BOG or previous BOG ?
There could be more affluent families with connections in ACSJ than ACSP.
Eg: We have a minister’s youngest son who was previously from ACSJ too. He should be 17 years old this year. The eldest grandson should be 7-8 years old this year in XXXX. 🤐 -

Total,
there are maximum 5 \"full\" schools throughout SG. And they are
(Catholic High + St Nick + SCGS + MGS + Maris Stella) primary.
