Anybody goes to the polyclinic for consultation?

One has to make an appointment. The application opens after 10pm the day before.

In the past, I walked in and just wait for my turn. My colleague had been turned away without an appointment.

While going to the GP is an option, the polyclinic is much cheaper.

They have walk in Q tickets in the morning but better check the day before you go in case got changes. I like Polyclinic as they can refer you to relevant dept. I never have regular GP because seldom see doc and nearby don't have. Kids go Glen. hospital when younger but always wait for than 1 hour with appts on hand plus med all the same till I know what to give.

Not so serious ba. I don’t know how to analyse deep in… the simple minded me only selectively picked up that there is concern of us in the future having to wait long for hospital bed etc… so she brought out some possible causes of it … hope to minimize the possible impact…that’s all right?

Yes. Take note. Every Monday, Polyclinic is very packed because Sunday is closed for Polyclinic, so if people fall sick on Saturday or Sunday weekend, Monday (the next day) becomes very crowed.

Whoever need to visit Polyclinic on Monday, make sure that on Sunday night 10 pm, book an appointment slot. Don't wait until Monday morning itself, then come & start booking. Often, too late, no more slot on Monday.

              I dislike this system.

When happens if one suddenly feels unwell on Mon early morning and cant go to the polyclinic bec all slots hv been taken up.

This is not the case in the past. One could simply walk in though need to wait for hours before seeing the doc.

stay behind when they grow old.

What you are proposing just makes Singapore look small-minded.
Resorting to personal attacks when you can’t win an argument?

It would seem that your view points are so coloured and fixated that you automatically reject any suggestion that may impact the PRs.

If the points raised are superfluous, why did you bother responding for 3 days non-stop?

Continue allowing in younger PRs while imposing a deadline of sort for retiree PRs as we enter super-aged status in 2030, is still small-minded?

                    Yes, u are right.

Last time, in the past years ago, I could go Polyclinic & just wait for a few hours, even though I did not book any slot last time on that day of visit. But lately, things have changed.

Not only booking a slot changed. But also, last time, if I need doctor to write me a referral letter, I could receive the referral letter after waiting for a period of time, within the same day. But now, cannot. Things have changed, for this too. The staff at Polyclinic said that if I still do not receive any notification from anyone AFTER ONE week's time awaiting to go to a certain department in a hospital, I can call them back at this telephone number (a number which they gave me), to check the status.

I asked the staff, why must wait for one week so long ? Staff replied that I am not the only one in entire SG, from Polyclinic (Bedok) visit alone that day, that requests to see doctors at NUH hospital, at subsidized costs. She said no choice, wait lor.

To me, this is a degradation in the provision of service.
Ok, better to die than to fall sick 😞

let more students go into medicine better right? Then we have more doctors.
