That's right. I was surpised to see the top GE boys at RI on Friday. I only found out then that they were attending the RI camp there. These are probably boys that average GE results above 90%.
above 90% for GE :nailbite: -

You have to look at the conditions in the DSA offer letter. Most schools would take in as long as it's above either 188 (MOE express cut-off point) or 200(most schools' express stream cut-off), depending on which they set.Once you are successful in DSA, the school will take you in so long as you meet their stated cut-off criteria in PSLE, which in most cases is an aggregate allowing you to be in Express stream.
In short, yes, even if your child scores 240, so long as he has been confirmed a place via DSA, he will be accepted.
Some schools do set their own internal cut-off for DSA. Eg. my boys' school's secondary section set the cut-off as 225, so I saw that there were boys who still didn't make it in in the end as they got less than that for PSLE. Another friend's son who had DSA under sports to another school was also given the minimum of 220. Thankfully he got 227 and got in. -

Does anyone know if the DSA interview phase for RI has actually started?

Besides sport trial participants, I suppose all the rest who fall under GE, SMOPS(at least silver) all get shortlisted? And if it is so, what is the rational behind the shortlisting process? -

Maybe shortlist is only applicable for those mainstreamers who have no awards/didn't DSA via sports? Since they didn't specify the minimum % for P5 & P6 results for those who applied DSA under 'Other P6' category, they may just shortlist those with v good results. -

the school say there is no guarantee even for GEPers and those camp finalists .... anything can happen right up to before the confirmed offer is made by the school -

Are you talking about the science camp held in RI on 24-25 June? I thought that was just a science enrichment camp during school holidays? If I'm not wrong, you need to pay for it and the camp was for both boys and girls. -
Tomorrow morning DS has to sit for the NUS DSA selection test. I hope the paper won’t be too difficult.
