        - Why did you choose our school?
        - Why do you think we should we pick you?
        - Which other schools have you applied to?
        - How can you contribute to this CCA?
        - Why do you like this sport?
        - What have you learnt from this sport?

          Hi -

The Kid was not selected for Bi-L. Instead he was selected for English (Humanities). Yup, HCI allowed multiple DSA tracks.

If you want to about HCI English/Humanities DSA selection, the Kid says:

The English DSA process starts with a written test of writing a poem. This poem was of the type where my child had to make one sentences with every letter used to spell a given word, each beginning with the letters of the written word. Ie: E... A... R... T... H... Note that the sentences had to be related to the word itself. The Kid wrote about how earth is abused by mankind, but other students wrote about the scenery and wonders of the earth.

The test was followed by a group interview.
Interview was on the child's fav book, and which char matches the child best. The Kid says he should have brought along a literary classic book instead of Harry Potter.

          Cheers & best of luck.
          Observation noted. Thank you.

          so,
what Hwa Chong DSA selection panel basically did was to,

          pick / route
          some Applicants from the
          (DSA Bilingualism ) domain,

          into another

          DSA (English Humanities) domain,
          if

u can prove (demo) to Hwa Chong that,
u (P6 student) have got the English language prowess which Hwa Chong is looking for.

          ===========================

Earlier, someone posted in this forum, was it you, zac mom, asking for -

what sort of criteria, is Hwa Chong or any other Secondary school looking for, in those candidates applying for DSA (Humanities) domain ?

          So zac mom,
have u gotten the answer now (refer above), in case u have more than 1 kid ?

I was wondering more about DSA Humanities for ACSI, which appeared first time in 2022 DSA exercise. Did it replace a former DSA English domain in the school?

Nope, nothing to do with English. It's based on humanities subjects in sec sch. I asked what criteria is needed they just told me they looking for pp with critical thinking 😅

And I think there was only 1 successful candidate last year.

Funny thing is- when I went to the humanities booth during open house during April 2023, they don’t seemed to know much about dsa (or that candidate). (Although they know a lot about their club)

Same could be said about the infocomm booth.
They were so passionate about what they do.
When I asked them about dsa - they also claimed only 1 candidate.
(And goes on telling me that 100s will apply to join their cca during cca week and around 20 will be accepted as cca member)

                      No
                      That’s not my point.

I meant - they only have 1 DSA slot.
Thus (the teachers) should be choosing the Crème de la crème.
(And the student leaders won’t know how the teachers operate)

That said - everyone who then joins the cca subsequently - should be equally capable. (I guess )
