Oh... it's after. Well, you get start planning now to go off after your kid finishes the last paper. The teachers won't care as they'll be busy marking. Can go for 2-3 weeks even
After PSLE we have to be around for the school visits ? As literally we did not visit the schools earlier.
Before PSLE , just look out of the window only is my idea of holiday. :pokeeye:
. My suggestion is to strictly stick to 1 week, constantly let the child know that this is just a temporary respite, albeit a well deserved one. PSLE is just the gate to a much more exciting life in the future! There's a tendency to forget and let go completely because parents are jaded from PSLE itself. Don't fall into that temptation. The rest of the period after you come back must be used to prime your child for secondary education.

I recall in the past when we used T score, NYGH had the highest COP at 263. That gave some parents the impression that it was the best Sec sch.
Any ideas why in the AL system, NYGH’s COP becomes AL7 instead of AL6 like RGS and MGS? -

The 263 could have been 260+3 bonus pts from HCL. So raw score of 260. Was that comparable to RGS and MGS T score COP?

The cop for NY 2023 sec 1 was AL7D. A parent pointed out, how many 7D can there be, so majority would still require 6 to get in.

Cop for mgs 2022 was 7.
According to MOE, the COP for 2022 IP was 6.
I am not saying one school is better than others. Just trying to understand.
I agree that the COP of a school does not mean majority who got in scored that. It is also possible that the last student who was admitted with AL7D was the ONLY AL7 too. Similarly, for MGS and RGS, we can also argue that the last one who entered scored AL6 and she could be the only one in that school and majority scored AL5.
Another 2 questions:
I don't know how many students can score AL4, AL5 and AL6 each year since the scores are no longer moderated and raw scores are used to compute the AL. Is it even correct to say AL4, 5 and 6 students in total should form the top 3% of cohort?
Do AL4, 5 and 6 students get the ESIS? -

Last year’s ESIS cut off was AL5 according to this link:

I think it has to do with the first estimated AL score COP that MOE released. It was based on the 2020 cohort PSLE results. MOE simulated the estimated AL scores COP based on the results and the respective S1 postings. So i think that was the baseline reference that the subsequent year students used for their school choice options.
Plus NYGH being SAP school, there’s also the Distinction, Merit and Pass. So, any movements are likely within the HCL scores only as AL7D to AL6D is like a "3-point" drop, if you get what i mean.
For MGS, there’s no HCL considerations, so the probability of the AL scores to move from AL7 to AL6 higher -
Thank you everyone. Got it now!
