2023 P1 Registration Exercise for 2024 In-take

Hi everyone! Would like to seek your advice…
We are SC and live within 1km of Poi Ching and are unsure if we should skip applying for it through Phase 2C.
Are the chances very slim if we apply for Chong Zheng since we since we are outside of 2km?
Thank you!!! -

Chongzheng has been balloting <1km for Phase 2C in the last 3 years, although the takeup rate in Phase 2A is only 68% this year compared to last year's 122%. I still think it will be a stretch for you to consider chongzheng this year in Phase 2C. I think you should try balloting in Poi Ching in Phase 2C since you are so near it. At least it is possible.

Poi Ching does balloting for those <1km too and it seems like phase 2C is always oversubscribed too 😩 -

Do you have 2C(S) plan in case you are not success in the phase 2C?
Thank you, Chief!

Do you think balloting is conducted on a Friday since govt agencies don’t work weekends? And we get results Monday? What time do they usually send out the sms Monday?
Also how does the balloting work? Every kid gets assigned a random number and the numbers go through a system to be selected? Or just a one-click excel spreed sheet say 40 choose 30 probability on the names? Thanks -

It's unlikely MOE would withhold the results until Monday.
As to how the balloting is done... who knows. I think very few people care. -
Ah it does show on more website results will be on 31st though!

@Chief asking for a friend :
You know the Subjects Offered listing in the MOE website?
What if the school doesn't offer a certain subject eg Foundation Chinese?
Does a child who have to drop to a Foundation Subject which is not in the \"Subjects Offered\" list have to leave that school during Subject selection at end of P4? -

No need to leave the primary school.

But, the child may have to go to the next, closest nearby primary school that do conduct \"Foundation\" Chinese subject lessons, each week for lessons.
For a start, perhaps,
find out from
either
your kid's school Chinese HOD
or
call up MOE, directly :-
1) ask, which is the closest, nearby primary school, to your current primary school, that happen to conduct \"Foundation\" Chinese lessons ?
2) after found out the name of this primary school,
then,
call up this school directly,
request to speak to the Chinese HOD in charge.
Ask the Chinese HOD, every week from Monday to Friday :-
a) Total, how many \"Foundation\" Chinese lessons are conducted, on per week basis ?
b) which week day & timing, is it conducted, every week ?
Each lesson, duration how long ?
c) how often, does this nearby primary school conduct Term tests, for \"Foundation Chinese \" ?
