That is very sad. When I was looking for a job 2 years ago, I hardly get any interviews and when I did, the first thing that the interviewer asked was \"Who is looking after your kids ?\" I did not get that job.

The four months maternity is not helping mommies, it has become an obstacle when looking for jobs.

I am also a full time working mommy, also in a family friendly place where nobody minds that I take leave. However, in order to keep my job, I have to say yes to everything, and that includes going to work for 5 weeks or even 5 months in China.

guess I fit the clarion call too. Am inching towards 40 and married with 2 princesses – a precocious 7 yr old and a 3 yr old.


made a major career switch after #2 was born. Used to fly extensively but took a paycut to take on an unsatisfying job (but only need to travel once a year). But the closeness with gals more than makes up for the boredom at work.

Actually I think having babies at a later age is good in the sense that we are more matured and financially stable compared to when we are in our 20s. Of course there may be risks to the pregnancy, though most cases that I know are fine.

Your SIL is lucky. My friend went for IVF at the age of 40. No luck.

I would think many here are in their 35-45 with children in Pri Sch.


I personally know some people who have 5-6 children and still having baby in their 40’s.

I would not say she is lucky. Her American boyfriend dated her for 7 years before asking to marry her. I think some men are really inconsiderate, to a woman, giving birth at age 38 is a lot more risky than at 30.
