Hi, has anyone kept your kids’ cord blood with StemCord or CordLife? How long do you intend to keep it? I have been keeping my child’s cord blood since she was born but am thinking of stopping it and donating to the national cord blood bank.

      Anyone has any advice? TIA!

Basically having an insurance in someones life is good i mean we get insurance so that we may secure our as well as our children's future ....

Recently my dad had an insurance from a local agent and he had paid for like 5 years and after that when his insurance was about to be matured the company ran away...
He was very upset and now he told us never to have an insurance... recently my grand pa was shifted to an aged care center. and i was wondering we have to pay for his bills from our pocket and for this reason i thought to have an AVIVA life insurance because a friend of mine told me about it and asked me when you are getting this insurance so i m a bit confused what to do with it..
how could a company run away?

Run away? But to my knowledge all the insurance companies are still operating in Singapore. By the way, life insurance and hospitalization insurance are 2 different things. Life insurance mainly insure you against death, TPD and some may cover critical illness. I think it is better to get a hospitalization plan first before buying a life insurance.

Run away? Wah what company is that? My entire family have been with the same provider for years now, got our health insurance from DBS…they’re a big bank. Bit hard to run away…plus im sure the govt got some kinda protection for that…if dbs gone, then the economy must be screwed.

I'm wondering, if already have hospitalisation coverage, does a person still need to buy critical illness coverage :scratchhead:

                Depends on each individual situation.

Lets say for e.g. Myself who is so called self employed. Anytime I stop work, my income practically stops because I am not a boss.

If touchwood I am struck my Critical Illness....

My 1st layer of protection n most important cover would be my hospitalisation coverage.

My 2nd layer of protection would be my Critical Illness coverage.....Because if I am sick my bills would still continue coming.

How much to insure for critical illness? Many schools of thoughts and different ways to look at it. Speak to an advisor and see if it makes sense to you.

I posted a similar question on medisave integrated health insurance plan for children and saw this post which may be the correct channel to get some recommendation. I am wondering if AVIVA or Prudential is better? How do i do a comparison between these two?

A Great Eastern agent told me to read the fine lines, especially for Aviva's. Some agents can show you different companies plans and tell you their pros and cons.

Which insurance companies do not have fine lines/prints? All their documents contain jargons which only their experts would understand.
