ACSJ is not the one moving to Tengah. ACSP is.

Which is why i’m also wondering like floppy, why did the <1km folks pick ACSP over ACSJ? GEP status still more important than future kids/grandkids having to travel to Tengah?[/quote]
      Oops paiseh remember wrongly 😓

?? What's the surprise with ACSJ? It has moderately more applicants this year (10) compared to last year. Apart from that, I'm not sure.
The distance for which balloting occurred? Anyway there are several schools which the balloting distance shifted, I wonder if it's because there are less people in the cohort vs the seats offered? I didn't look hard into the data though, so just thinking aloud.

I can tell you that many parents still unaware of this moving to Tengah news. Just like how certain popular schools historically need to ballot for SC < 1 KM at Phase 2C yet still got parents >2KM still want to try try their luck at 2C. :rahrah:

Haha that’s why we need to talk more about it in the forums to leave digital footprint, so that when ppl do web search on these keywords, bam the info comes up for them 😂

I would like to ask for opinions / suggestions.

My son is unsuccessful in his primary school application in Compassvale Pri. As I am living in Compassvale Crescent, which school will then be your next choice. I’m looking at SK and PG area.

Also, congrats to those who are successful.

            Thanks in advance.

The remaining schools aren’t that much different. Just pick the school most convenient and most comfortable to you. Ideally, pick one within 1km.

                Thank you floppy.
Finally I feel the disappointment of those who are unsuccessful. 😂

Hello big bros and sis, sorry to hijack this thread. Sad day for me. Unsuccessful for 2C (wanted to register my kid for Horizon Pri in Punggol); now left with 2 choices (within 1km) - Edgefield Pri and Greendale Pri.

For those parents who have kids studying there, greatly appreciate your valuable comments or guidance. Any input will be so useful to me. Need to make a decision on Thurs (2CS). Yes, feel free to PM me also 🙂

Advance thanks and good day ahead !!!

Many new BTO estates are built near certain primary schools. Shouldn’t MOE have expected the application rates to shoot to the stars and hence plan in advance how to mitigate or lessen the impact of parents’ disappointment?

Many new BTO estates have plenty of schools available at a reasonable distance (namely < 2km). Even in Phase 2Cs, many options are still available in Punggol, Sengkang, Tampines, Toa Payoh, etc. Hence, MOE can't be said that they haven't been planning in advance.

What the MOE cannot control, unfortunately, is for parents to favour one or two schools, while ignoring all others.

MOE failed to convince all parents that every school is a good school.
