Not sure if the cocoa/powder are sweetened. I just tried the room temperature brownie..so sweet even tho I put 1/3 sugar in the recipe.

We have underweight and overweight here. I m overweight..not sure why these 2 days weight went up tho I ate during the shorter window. Now I have to lose 1.5kg to move my bmi to normal.

I had one bad period and got my weight piled up...thereafter, don't bother now the fats solidified..got to slowly shed off for healthier aging.
Cocoa powder is usually unsweetened? Read the packaging to be sure.

For intermittent fasting, I think what you eat also matters. The total calorie count still has to be less in order to lose weight, but eating within a restricted window usually means that you will eat less (unless you snack a lot or eat bigger meals). Also, I think your body needs time to get used to the rhythm of eating during a restricted window. As Funz pointed out earlier, if you don't keep to a regular rhythm, your body may store more fat as it doesn't know when the next meal is coming.

Currently I find 20 hrs quite comfortable. Thing is 4 hrs window abit too short for 2nd meal. I find I m almost forcing myself to eat. These few days I try to shorten the window coz the rest of hrs I will maybe eat a pack of biscuit and some veg only.

Today, after main meal I find quite enough so just had an hour window. Quite puzzling coz the total amt of food is confirmed lesser as usual time I eat all day long. Maybe just continue see how it goes..towards end of Aug will have eating time so will go easy. Thereafter continue.

I'm no expert, but I think 20 hrs is really rather long! And if you're eating less and still gaining weight, that doesn't sound right! Maybe someone else (Funz?) should comment?

Anyone of you have read statements by NEA or AVA on Japan releasing the Fukushima tritium waters into the Pacific Ocean tomorrow?

Is it ok to eat sushi and sashimi?

Why are the Singapore authorities keeping mum about it? Got the NTU academics to talk about it only.

The CNA article also did not say whether we can eat or should avoid eating sushi/sashimi for the time being.

I’m scared but my hub said it is ok to eat sushi/sashimi.

Reasons why my hub feels ok to eat:
1). The Jap kept the radioactive water for 12yrs, so most of the short lived radioactive substances have already decayed (way past their half lives).
2). Jap have multi-stage process to filter the radioactive water to within “safety limit”.
3). IAEA has conducted a few rounds of reviews with the Jap and is satisfied that the water to be discharged is within safety limits
4). Last but not least, there’s lots of water in the Pacific Ocean, by discharging the filtered water into the big ocean, it will be substantially diluted.

If based on scientific findings, maybe not so scared. But if based on inherent fears because we eat a lot of seafood from Pacific Ocean, then the thought of it can be like quite scary. Although the farmed salmon we eat is mostly from Norway, we do consume a lot of seafood from Pacific Ocean. A lot of Don Don Donki foodstuff use water from Jap to manufacture and of cos, Jap rice! And also, those dried scallops sold at Hock Hua that we loved to put in Chinese soup, they are either from Jap or China seas.
For that matter, Chinese seas is not exactly clean. Their factories also anyhow throw untreated industrial waste/water into the drains/sea.

SFA, pls don’t disappoint us ok?!?! We will eat sushi/sashimi if you allow them to be imported into SG! 😂

Life is a journey of a series of processes and events.

Upon completion of each process/event, I feel rewarding and satisfying.

hmmm... eat in moderation . we are not having daily sashimi or a weekly affair right?
ocean deep sea fish, prawns - which usually served in restaurants , visit less ,eat less .
buy kelong fish n prawns -though not as fresh n nice like deep sea ones but in this case is less \"polluted\" and cheaper
                    less visits to Donki 😢

The Japanese are going to release the nuclear water into the ocean over 30 years!

Can one avoid sushi/sashimi over these 30 years, don’t step in Japanese restaurants plus don’t visit Japan for holidays during this period? :pokeeye:
                      Very hard to resist bah.
