All About Preparing For Primary One

RRMummy:
Haiya buds, sorry I missed this thread. Only one-liners in both the CCCs so far.
Good then. Better than nothing.. Did you manage to
check out the other CCC i told you about? Fees &
distance... or you planning to just stick your gut
with this one?
Eh, opt for reply notification for this thread lar since
you're also preparing DD1 for P1.
RRMummy:
Really? I'm younger than you then.. :lol:err.. actually, I only did dictation when I was in P3..
-
Poohbear:
Thks for sharing.
You're welcome, dear. After all, we are here to share and learn from each other.
Poohbear:
Since we have no other options at the moment, that is how we console ourselves but pity her also lar.. whole day school work...Actually its better for the kids to slowly get used to homework than get a rude shock when start P1. So in a way, your CCC is helping your gal in the long run
Poohbear:
Maybe they are those that insist to go strictly by the MOE guideline. In such case can't complain to upper level also..Abt the HYPY, my gal's CCC just tell us ( point blank) to send our kids to external HYPY if we wan to make sure that our kids are prepared for that portion for P1 ... most of the parents not happy abt it :x ... but wat to do? :stupid: most of the parents i know just send lor...

so where did you sign your DD up for HYPY? -
buds:
Yup checked. They said no vacancies and they have 30 pax in waiting list! :faint:Did you manage to
check out the other CCC i told you about? Fees &
distance... or you planning to just stick your gut
with this one?
I also asked when they will be open for intake next year (DD2), they said they will promote the current student and then assign to waitlist. So one more option down..
buds:
That's for sure!!  :lol:Really? I'm younger than you then..

Wow!! P4 - I can start to imagine how you manage to handle such drastic needs between you kiddos...My son is in P4 this year. I need to accompany and coach him in his daily work...not possible to leave him on his own just yet.
I heard that children in CC have more work than those in kindy, but what you told me is scary. My son's tutor told me her daughter in CC has to learn few sentences of Chinese ting xie.
Err.. ya it scares me and my DD1 too, oh and yes my DD2 (N2) also not happy as she also has homework every friday - 2 pages of English (skip a line) and 2 pages of Chinese!
From ZERO to all these, they really have to adjust.. what to do.. need to change CCC. DH already having thots of driving from west to north every morning just to put them back at the old CCC. -
buds:
No problemo!Oitch. Wrong number RRMummy..

be able to write more.. on top of that still have to guide children
to write 10 sentences of Written Expression.. Vocabulary, Grammar,
simple Comprehension & Cloze Passages. -

Only if you drive, if not very taxing for you what with the 2 different sessions, dear. Even driving can be quite tiring leh. Remember you have to have enough energy for ur lil one.. Pls remember to take good care of yourself too!!But then again, i'd be doing this very soon..

I totally ditto those thoughts as that is what I'm doing for their Berries every Sundays. But daily affair and since I don't drive, it would be very tiring for them... so I'm kinda holding back that option and still looking around. -
buds:
Actually yes, but no reply to my PM leh..Want me to prepare yours??
Kekekee..
