      Good day!

will Nan Chiau high school accept students who did not take High Chinese Language exam during PSLE?

      NCHS score range: 5(D)-12
      Kid scored 9

Bing AI replies without HCL, NCHS rejects…
Not sure about nan chiau but during Chung cheng open house visit, we asked teacher there the same question since my gal didn't take HCL, the answer is can, base on same cut off point. But HCl is default compulsory for s1 onward.

Yes, as long as your kid able to meet Nan Chiau official Cut off point. However, by default, all Sec 1 Nan Chiau students will study Higher Chinese

I know that the Non affiliated Cop may fluctuate.. What about the affiliated cop?

Does anyone know if that can fluctuate too?
Eg. If the affiliated Cop is 10-12 and the kid scores AL13. Is there any chance at all that he/she will make it through?

Trying to figure out if for affiliated kids, they take in all the affiliated kids (up to 12) and leave the rest for non affiliated (ensuring at least 20%)

Or do they leave 20% for non affiliated and then can take up to 80% of the affiliated even those that score above the prev Yrs cop if there is space.

            Thanks in advance!
No, the affiliated COP (also known as AMR affiliate minimum requirement in official terminology) is fixed. It will not fluctuate.

The 20% is reserved for non-affiliates *before* the posting computer runs the algorithm. So even if the are more than 80% of affiliates who meet the AMR, they will not be given more places. They will have to ballot among themselves.

So, your para “Trying to figure out if for affiliated kids, they take in all the affiliated kids (up to 12) and leave the rest for non affiliated (ensuring at least 20%)” is the correct one.

Hi all. I would like to have more advices and references/information from people here. My DS PSLE result is AL7 total. We are SC. We thinking to apply to NJC but after do some research, I am abit surprised that NJC quality dropped very much. The school facilities is old, teachers are not helpful. I take train to NJC daily and see kids from NJC with blur and sleepy faces while kids from HCI are more interactive. On the academic side, NJC also dont produces top A level results. I dont see school organise any open house to attract prospective students. Initial, I made NJC my first choice but after recalling kids with NJC Uniform 's attitude at my place, I would rather think more. May anyone here give us 2nd/3rd opinion on NJC?TIA

                  AL5 is sure in
AL6D may require balloting depending on how many students applying each year.

Foresee many parents will push for IP instead of O level.
Schools with IP course could be more difficult to get in.
No matter how MOE/Minister does, it is always stressful to parents.

If 7M any chance for nygh
Chances quite slim. My friend’s DD got AL7D but got balloted out of NYGH. The COP was AL7D last year.

NYGH COP was AL7D, not AL6D.

So AL6M stands a very high chance to get in.
