Need some kind advice here from parents who also stayed in the east.
We stay in the east, near Tampines. My DD result is AL4 but we are concerned of the travel distance for her, if she get into RGS. We wanted her to consider DHS as it seems nearer. Really quite in a dilemma and would like to hear from those parents who stay in East.
Any experience and advice greatly appreciated.
There is not much a difference in travelling time from Tampine MRT to RGS (53mins) & DHS. (44mins).
Based on gogglemap . If this is your main concern. π -

Roughly, when does RGS post the PG message to the new Y1s?
Parent is able to access RGSβs parent portal and Parent Gateway.
For students, they will be trained to communicate via student portal. -

If I recall correctly they will be randomly assigned. I donβt think it is an issue which house they belong to.
And um, how does the school allocate the houses? Sorry for so many questions...
My girl told me that during her time the Y1 class will be assigned to a specific house. -
Can any RGS parents share where does your girl go for Eng and Chinese tuition?

There is no more SBGE for rgs
Hi, is the SBGE programme at RGS integrated into the curriculum for all RGS students, or only for selected students? Is selection based on whether they were from GEP? -

We stay in Simei, and I do think itβs far. But distance is subjective. Why donβt you travel to both schools and time it?

Can also consider buses that uses PIE like 59 and 129 change to 93 in comparison to MRT if this helps.

Ask your daughter to test run for one whole week first, whether she can tahan changing mrt + bus, to go RGS. The answer lies in your daughter. If she can't tahan for one week, then forget about RGS,

because
this is going to be reality for her everyday, not just one way but two ways,
unless ... u are prepared to shift house, nearer (closer) to RGS.
For me, if I stay in Tampines, I won't even consider RGS. Will think of IP (either Temasek JC or Dunman High) -
Thank you very much for all the helpful replies. Greatly appreciate it. I am trying to get feedback from parents whose DD are in RGS on the distance and whether they can cope with it.

Dear parents, DD want to apply MEP at Y1 after orientation, we are not sure she can succeed or not.
But now can choose 3rd language in S1 OPTION FORM.
I would like to know can submit the 3rd language first and then drop it if we got into the MEP (as I know only choose one from MEP and 3rd language) ?
Thanks in advance.
