According to experts, when choosing a toothpaste for a child, parents should remember a few things:

*Choose a non-abrasive toothpaste because it can damage the enamel.
Thanks for sharing. But how do I know if the toothpaste is abrasive?

My children now use kids’ toothpaste from Oral B, Colgate and First Choice. Their first toothpaste was First Teeth.

csb, to be safe, just get the kids’ toothpaste. You can read the info on the box/tube to reassure yourself that it’s safe and gentle for your kids.

May I check if it’s ok for my coming to 3 yr old kid safe to use toothpaste?

I thought he should have started already? My kids have used toothpaste since age of 1. So far, I have never met any dentist who say don't use toothpaste.

I used First Teeth for my son too long. Dentist told me I should have switched to a children’s toothpaste with fluoride when his baby teeth appeared. Before that, I should teach him to spit out first.

He’s using Aquafresh while 6 year old gal using Oral B for kids.

I’ve been using Biotene’s first teeth for my child. Basically dentists recommend anything that is fluoride-free for children who can’t spit yet.

I've shared what my son is using here:

                      http://thelittleonesinmylife.blogspot.com/2010/07/toothpaste-for-infants-and-toddlers.html

Basically, I chose non-flouride as he is still young and sometimes swallow some of the toothpaste. Also, our water from tap already has added flouride, so there's no particular need for it.

At their age, they should not be getting any yellow stains if they brush twice a day. You might want to consider changing the brush if regular brushing does not seem to remove the stains.

                        Hi

Does anyone know where to get this toothpaste other than ordering online?

                        http://www.iherb.com/Jason-Natural-Kids-Only-Toothpaste-Strawberry-4-2-oz-119-g/16292?at=0

                        Thanks.
