Performance is only a small component of MEP. The syllabus is available online…on seab website

They cover history, theory, listening, music composition, music cultures, use of softwares for music etc.

Those who wish to appeal for transfer better do so fast. Some schools like HCI, RGS etc., the deadline is already over!

                To catch an early worm,
on that very morning when S1 posting results were announced via WhatsApp around 6+ am,
if students got balloted out unluckily but still have met that Sec school's Cut off point, many students already came forward, to start appealing.

Somebody at the school has to vacate their seat first before the trickle down effect can flow down to the rest of the schools (or musical chairs effect, whatever the term is).

I recall in my child’s class there was one kid whose parents registered him (he was on the class name list) but in the end he never turned up in Jan. Eventually the school was informed that he’d gone to an international school instead and his Express seat was given to the next in line…and so on.

Some used these special programs to DSA/EAE into their desired JC & poly courses too.
Agree. For those who are into art or music, time spent on practising will not be considered as a chore. Those are the suitable ones. These programs are designed for kids with such interests, expanding from the standard academic subjects. The system is now recognising more different areas of learning hence no need to be too constrained by the traditional standard academic area if one can do well in another.
There is no need to force a fish to learn how to climb a tree now.

Hihi sorry..can chk what you mean by chances ..an uphill task?

To get into MEP is tough?

To have MEP plus a prerequisite to join a music related CCA can be tough in terms of time & commitment?

To go for both MEP + 3rd language, will be tough in terms of time&commitment ?

To ask to be allowed to join MEP+3rd language is uphill task? or

To ask to drop the 3rd lang after the successful MEP admission, is an uphill task?
Sorry, was referring to the MT exemption Q.
