Really? I looked at the simplygo app and all it has is a check box for notifications which is already turned on. But I get no notifications for anything leh. That's weird.
Was chatting with my SIL & delayed taking photoshoot. It’s almost immediate on my hp screen w/o me taping into app.
        ...

          有时后, 您看我好, 我看您好, 无法真正明白别人的难处.

DH fell ill as his diabetes caused him to slim down and weak last November and therefore he could not travel together with me. When my mother ask me why DH was not there, then I told her DH fell ill. Then my mother in front of all my father and siblings force me to divorce with DH because my mother said DH will lead me a miserable life in future since he is sick and no money. She even asked me to sell my house and stay together with her in a condominium.

This is not the first time, she force me to divorce. To her, how can her DD stay in a HDB house, eating in a hawker centre and ride in a packed MRT Trains everyday. She never agree my marriages and therefore no family members attended my solemnization and I had to ask my colleagues to be my witness and signed on the marriage certificate. During these years, she kept on using all kinds of methods to separate me and DH because she said she think my life would be very difficult because DH is poor with no academic qualifications and he cannot earn much but she did not understand DH is my choice and it is my life not her.

Now she is in hysteria condition after she heard DH fell ill, she said I should separate with him fast so that no need to pay him maintenance after the divorce. I argued with her and said that I am no longer a secondary student when she could always make decision for me and she insisted that I already in 50+ still need her guidance and she feel very guilty as a mother as she could not force me to follow her instruction. She insisted that her guidance is the best for me. Then I argued back - all her kids had under a divorce except me and she was so angry and could not say a word.

So now in CNY, DH said he will never see and talk to her and actually I am also want to do the same. I even don’t want to give her a call…

            LNW

Every household has its own woes.
Am also stressed for CNY but it will be over soon. Afterall, how many more CNY can our parent(s) celebrate with us? Just close one or two eyes.

              LNW,

Don’t listen to your mother. She cannot control your life, as u are an adult. The fact that u married your husband means u must have seen certain good qualities inside him. Hence, u feel that u can entrust your life with him, thus married him. To be honest, in life, not easy to find a companion, whom u can entrust your life into his hands.

As for falling sick, is a matter of time as all of us are growing old. You recall your marriage vows that day, when u married your husband and sign at the ROM … " in sickness or in health, till death do us part". Your husband need u even more at this time in his sickness, to stand by him, to encourage him when he is weak, in health.

Just ignore your mom. She can’t do anything. Each time she bring up divorce, just let her words fly over your head. That means, not important. She can rattle all she wants. But don’t let her words affect u. Just reject, whatever she said.

OTOH, all mums want the best for their kids. They love their own flesh but perhaps their methods may not be appropriate.

Agree with this. You and your husband have a good relationship, as far as I can see, and that is precious. I wonder how she would feel if you were the sick one, and your husband decided to dump you? Don't let outsiders (and other relatives are also \"outsiders\" to a marriage) get in the way. It's upsetting to have this happen around CNY, but focus on your marriage and son & family. Wishing you a good time with your husband and son over the next few days.

Thank you for the supports. I have no plan to dump DH. Because my mother has hospitalized recently due to the blockade of her blood vessel, I am afraid when I talked to her then she will angry and shooting up her blood pressure.

You have to accept that some things are beyond your control - if you can calmly state your case, but she gets angry, it is not your fault. There comes a point in life (and you have certainly reached it) when we have loyalties to others stronger than to our parents.
