I am looking for backpack with compartment for 12\"-13\" notebook. Found 1 at Targus selling about 100+. I havent bought such bags for a long time and I noticed the crumpler and Samsonite are mostly >100. Am I outdated or are there good notebook/backpack for less than <100?

all the 3 bags I bought have laptop compartments but you get what you pay for in terms of quality of padding n sturdiness of material. The Nike was the cheapest at $80 n the material is not thick. Jan Sport was about $100 n bit more padding but the Victorinox is so sturdy and well padded it cost a lot more. I think it's meant more for business travellers - it's actually dh's bag- n will provide the best protection for a laptop amongst the 3. It also has lockable zippers for the last compartment where the laptop compartment is located.

We have decided to tentatively let her carry her current Sierra backpack (not much cushion, but light) and then we buy her a notebook cushion case. I think it saves cost and the bag is also slightly lighter on those days that she’s not carrying the notebook.
