Am a little bit worried that my kids will come back and tell me that do not want to work till \"discover purpose in life\" - happened to people I know.
Err this one, regardless where one studies also there isnt guaranteed immunity against it.

Is more of the probability of risk event happening, though I guess can also think that 该发生的总会发生

DS accepted NUS though I would prefer him to go to SMU. Reason for our preference is personality fit - he is more introverted, while I would like him to develop a wider comfort zone.

Studying overseas is stressful too - highly competitive as everybody is aiming for First Class with Recommendation or to be the top student. Majority continued with post-graduate studies.
Spoken to Fren whose dd is in final yr in NUS , is content / theory focused - since my time n hubby time had been so. If your ds wishes n interest into pursue deep content knowledge, probably is rather suitable , useful n beneficial for pursuit of further education in future too. My ds is opposite , so we think smu suits him better, we will know when he starts 😂

            Thanks.

Am not sure if it is interest, think it is more being strategic viz ability / personality. The good thing is there is still 2 more years to observe his personal growth, based on which he may be confident enough to go overseas.

My preference is still for him to spend some years overseas as there are a lot more opportunities there. But will respect his choice and decision.

Recently I watch a YouTube video posted by a Chinese American of HK descendant. She studied in US Uni and went to UK on a 1 year exchange program. She shared she felt safer taking to strangers met on the street in UK than in US.

Any parents can share what you know about differences of living experiences of students study in foreign countries. Both the relative positives and negatives, among the foreign countries

                Of course !

In USA, for self protection, every family household carry gun. UK : also not safe

                Read this -

University students gunned down, killed over robbery.

So smu is focused on? Project based?
Comparing NUS business vs Smu business? How abt NTU business? Ntu business is only 3 years, any idea why shorter if comparing single degree.

The poly buz students i met at open house, aiming for smu business, wonder why?

My relative graduated from NUS business. He told me wherever there is an interview of applicants for some jobs/scolarships, whenever he get to see the applicants’ Uni list, he is almost certain those from SMU surely will proceed to next round.

According to him SMU curriculum is quite like the US’ where students are encourage to speak up in seminar class layout.

There is a risk that some interviewers equate being able to talk with being able to think. Quieter people aren't necessarily not thinking. If a student can do both, then it really doesn't matter where he studies.
