          RRMummy,

When she is not willing to cooperate like these few days, I'm at my wits end. There's nothing I can do about it...maybe will try again tonight. Her moods can drive one up the wall. Gotta run, kids having tuition at 7pm.
          Hi janet,

Hopefully, she is in a more cooperative mood these days. :celebrate:

            [

so where did you sign your DD up for HYPY?

My DD is with Berries. Teacher been saying her tone not too good, cannot get all 4 sounds correct. :scratchhead:

            How abt your gal?

Hi Poohbear, yup my gal is also in berries πŸ™‚ They just started introducing HYPY this term so maybe she needs a little more time. They sing a very catchy tune for the 4 tones, maybe singing it together more often might help..

the one abt - open mouth big-big, a a a.. etc etc (tune of twinkle, twinkle little star), and also they have this little dance action that goes along with it... also the hand signalling the tone..

Hope you get my drift.. πŸ˜‰

Mods, this is also considered under prep of P1 so we are not so badly off-topic πŸ˜‰

I didn't know schools teach HYPY in school as part of the curriculum now. During my son's time 2006, it wasn't taught and he literally went to P1 not knowing anything about it...just like being thrown in the deep end of the pool. Fortunately, he picked it fast enough.

For my younger one going to P1 next year, I've asked the tutor to give her a headstart. I got charts as well. Very much more KS this time. Most parents would be kancheong with the first child, but I think I'm kancheong with my 2nd one because I do not want to repeat the same mistakes made earlier. πŸ˜‰

Hi Mummies and Daddies registering for P1 this year

Do you get your kids to practice P1/P2 workbooks or exam papers at home to prepare them for Primary?
