Hi cincin, have you seen this?
        http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/jurong-west

For WG, based on past year records, your chance is zero.

        For Xingnan, still got chance.

I just like to confirm again regarding WG, after a check with onemap, I seem to be within 1km from WG. Do you think i stand a chance in balloting?

:? the school give such vague answers ah... geez..

Yup, if within 1km than can try to ballot for Phase 2C but the fight is very steep..you have been warned...

WG phase 2C APP was 272% last year. Meaning for every place in the school, there were 2.72 students vying for it. So you only have 1 in 3 chances to get selected.

The chances are very very slim. So be prepared to end up in Boon Lay Garden / Corporation / Juying / Lakeside if you failed to secure a place.

Good day to every1 here, I'm news in this forum i very lost about selecting primary school education for my son to what i know during my childhood i never encounter this PVs here and PVs there sigh...

I had been to several school for observation,

Jurong west primary, Their student is quite mischievous and the way the school handle things is quite haywire ( no system at all) but this already few months back maybe they are improving now and i personally felt that they have to put more effort in academic instead more on CCAs.
My view: Not my idea school unless their PSLE results is positive! and improvement on event handling.

Xingnan primary school, i was very impressed on their Special Programmes Offered Chinese \"Qian Ju Wen\" one word i can describe as their chinese teaching is STRONG and their student over there is quite obedient but their school environment (some part of the school building need some touch up) external view of the school is fine but when i attend to their open house i was guided to several point and i realised that some of the connecting walkway to other point is very narrow, stuffy and some creature painting on the wall colour had already faded and stain all over it, hmmm...when i looked at dirty stain on the wall painting i felt very sorry... i think this school have a lot of potential to compete with other popular school if they eager to put more effort on their management, maybe they need some fund to come in.

My view: Good for student who weak in Chinese subject, after all i feel comfortable with their obedient student and humble approached during their open house, not a bad school, can consider.

West Grove primary: When i walked into their school's gate the first impression is the Guards' attitude maybe they need to improve in this area be more friendly and put on some smiling face to visitor. Well, when i went into their office to obtain some information in order to prepare P1 enrollment for my child, some of the staffs i spoke with and i found that some of them able to provide information that what i want to know the only thing that they need to be more humble manner handling visitor enquiry, i saw their Vice principal and have a few words with him and i sense that he is friendly and helpful, and for their students over there is quite well behave and some of them can speak very well. One thing i don't feel very comfortable is their school compound, is too small and doesn't have any field for student CCA needs.

My View: Some of the staffs need to be more humble to visitors and i'm sure they will get a good reputation if they willing to improve in this area after all this is also a good academic school!

Rulang primary: The first step when i stepped into their school (during weekday) I can see they maintained their school compound very well, their staffs are humble and their students is very well behave! but i feel that their requirement is very high (Academic standard) that's makes me pull me back and consider whether letting my child enroll in this school, after all too stressful is not a good thing to our kids.

My view: A good school and very high demand in academic standard, can consider if you want your kid to challenge on this type of environment.

And for other school i didn't mentioned that probably i did not pay a visit to their school so i cannot put some comment here.

My 1st choice is Rulang, 2nd West Grove and then Jurong west or Xingnan primary.

                        Worryparent,

I was like WOW, you are really doing work. Thanks for the infomation which you provided. I agree with you that Xingnan student are rather well-behave and good manner.

And Jurong primary, i too agree that some of the kids are rather rowdy there.

I’m very confused now… don’t know which school to choose as my first choice.

Rulang will be out as I’m > 2km.

The rest of the school seem to be soso only which makes me abit worry to leave my ger there.
