phankao, cc orch = community centre orchestra? is there such org here? Which one?
Most community centres have chinese orchestras. But then, my ds is also in school orchestra (which is a little easy for him altho' most are his age).
No string orchestras or symphony orchestras in CC, sadly, except for bradell heights, i think?? And I think that one is abit too 'high standard', altho' I was not impressed when we watched them perform recently in a concert. -
Hi,
I just organised a violin recital for my students 2 weeks ago. It was a joint organised violin & piano recital. I always organise annual studentsโ recital in June for my students. Now Iโm thinking of adding some other programs for my students at the end of the year.
Maybe for my next recital, I would post it here and all are welcomed to attend. It is always a delight to see the kids on stage performing. -

Haah - I think the original question was that the mom wanted an avenue for her kids to perform, not to watch!Hi,

Can arrange a playdate at her house

Afterall, piano "performance" are usually played solo right? Jus need 6 kids to start with and a lot of snacks for tea! Perfect setting

Certainly agree with this. My friend organised an impromptu session during one of the school hols. She gathered some kids from the neighbourhood and viola, we had a performance night (with mommies and daddies as the audience). That night, we have piano with violins, violins with cello, violin quartet, solo piano & violin performances. A fun-filled night. :love:Can arrange a playdate at her house

mum05, if you are looking for more public performances, perhaps can try putting your kid up for performance at friends' or relatives' weddings. Friends' birthday parties could be good peforming opportunities too. -

Hello, you don't even need to. Just your family alone is enough to have many memorable \"performance\" nights, especially with your youngest.

Hi,
My studentsโ recital was held at YMS Arts Centre. I know that u are hoping to find somewhere for your child to perform. Family gatherings, school performances are a good platform and maybe u can check with your childโs teacher. As for listening to other kids playing, it can be also an experience. -
chamonix:
They don't (my family members, I mean). They love performing with their various groups though.
