I thought only Phase3 for non-SG & non-PR are 1st come, 1st served. The rest are by ballot if no applied > no of vacancy.Hi all,
We are scheduled to register our child for P1 under Phase 2A2 next week. The hours of registration are from 8:00am onwards. I have called up the school and was told that registration will be on first-come-first-serve basis. I wonder if there is a need to be at the school as early as possible to secure a place for my child. Any experience parent please share your views? Thanks. -

The TUR after phase 1 is already 38%, even higher than 2006...the year Dragon babies register for P1. So you could be right....from what i heard,
cumulative TUR for CHS under P2A1 in the 60-70% range, maybe more. i dunno. -

First-come-first-serve for the registration process, NOT the place allocation.
Allocation of places is by balloting if applicants exceed number of places (except phase 3), so it is absolutely not necessary to be there as early as possible. -

Is there really such a thing as first come first served ? That's impossible :!: . Anyway, I called up the school to enquire at 6pm and a staff member told me there is no such thing as 'first come first serve'. -

Considering P2A2 applicants will be low, overall TUR for P2A should be upper 70s range.

Why so? Since 2A1 is for alumni members while 2A2 is for old boys + staff, I would think 2A2 will have more applicants than 2A1? -

My assumption is that most old boys would have joined the alumni, but then again many would have missed out on the alumni dateline for 2A1.
You might be right. -
2A2 is for old boys/girls as well as children of teachers of the school. This number will be higher than 2A1. Can anyone advise ? Wonder if we really have to wait until Mon/Tue to know the TUR.

Hi all,
Really thankful for all the replies. I have just contacted a friend of mine who has gone for the registration this morning. She mentioned that there were very few alumni members during the registration. We are the one who have missed out on the alumni dateline for Phase 2A1. But then the staff member of the school told us that its not necessary to be alumni to secure a place. Phase 2A2 is good enough to get a place. -
for past years, phase 1, 2A1 & 2A2 are sure to be successful. Ballotings have only happened from phase 2B onwards.
