      blueblue:
I feel that the teacher student ratio is too big. Used to study there last time. Not so sure if they make any changs. Maybe both of u can check on it.

I agree with blueblue that the teacher-student ratio is big. I'm sure the teachers and teaching methods are good but not sure if it is suitable for all students with varying abilities.

Used to send my dd1 there a few years back. The teacher was a former MOE school teacher and the worksheets were carefully prepared and designed. Hw, as my dd was weak in Maths, I did not think that the delivery style suited her. The pace was too fast and the teachers may have little time for weaker students.

In the end, took her out as I felt that her learning style was not suited for a classroom teaching environment. She benefitted more from one-to-one coaching or small group tution (maybe 4 students in a group).

However, if your child is above average in school and just wants additional coaching to practise on challenging questions, then Mavis wd be good for such students.

      JMHO :celebrate:

IMHO, it’s the same with any other schools or tuition centres, that is, there will be some good and not so good teachers. Heard that there was a very good teacher in the centre and lots of parents put their children on "waiting list". In other words, parents seek out this teacher and adjust their schedule according to the teacher’s availability. Don’t ask me who’s the teacher cos I heard only hor.

Looks like they have some interesting Science lessons. Anyone tried this centre for Science?

Hi Chief Kiasu & All Parents,

Have anyone heard of this tution centre before. I would like to have some feedback. Many thanks.
My Kid was there with her sister... quite sometime ago, but I get them to quit the classes. It SIMPLY HORRIBLE.

Turns out that my elder kid only master how to play Dai Dee (poker) in the class. The teachers just simply walk in and out constantly, while instructing them to do their own revision. While my younger kid in a different class, can't understand what the teacher is teaching. The class is simply too noisy, all the students just chit chatting while the teacher just sit at his desk.

(How I know??? I find it too hard to believe when my kids video it down in their handphone... That shows that there is are discipline enforced in classes... and that is how I find out)

I wasted my money and trusted the wrong person for introducing me below standard tuition center.

I agree with you that there may not be much discipline in the class.
Cos sometimes my kids sms me during their lessons there!
If your kid is the type that has problem concentrating, then it may not be suitable as the student teacher ratio is large.
However they do teach ahead of lessons so the kids are not so lost during their actual lesson in school and may absorb better.
Also, with my kids their neighbours and friends are attending the tuition centre together, so they find it kinda fun!
My kids like their teachers there as the teacher will talk about happenings in the world in relation to the lesson which they find interesting.
And as hashroop has mentioned, their science teacher is pretty cool as he performs experiments in class, and during the holidays will bring the kids out on excursion.
I personally feel that my kids are there to learn and have fun, so it is worth their time and my money.
