My P3 DD1 had practical exam for her recent SA1 which we were not

made known of. She says there were 4 stations and were given a
sheet of questions to answer. Instructions were given on how to
carry out each station's experiment. The children have to answer
objective questions in relevance to the experiments that have bn
carried out. The experiments tested are based on the understanding
of the topics that have been covered for the semester. Dunno whether
all schools practise the same but just sharing mine. Hope this helps.

Yes, fr p3 onwards, dd has practical test/exam usually around end of July. I guess nothing much to prepare!

Hi usaik, yes the major part of it was from Diversity.
I'll try to ask her later if she remembers the experiments
from the stations... so hopefully can share some more.

My DD1 already tested and included in her SA1 exams.
So, she did hers somewhere in late April.

The school's practical test is upon 20 marks. I'm just
assuming if there are 4 stations, then each station weighs
like 5 marks (for experiment success + question sheet)...

As we weren't even informed, there was definitely nothing
to prepare. :roll: I suppose when conducting self experiments
children would be tasked to answer general knowledge questions
on top of the questions that would come or are in relevance to the
topics covered during the semester.

We did not get to see the paper.

The MCQs are the most tricky. But they constitute a large % in the paper. 60% of the marks from MCQ (30 questions) and 40% from open-ended.

Hmm... the answer for 1. is (3) A, B, C, D. I didn't know peacocks can fly... but they do in a limited sense, especially the female ones.

I've no idea what a molly is... but according to my son, its a kind of fish. I googled and came up with Molly - a female mule.

So which is which?? Confused :oops:

now that ring a bell...i vaguely remember that molly is a fish that gives birth to its young....does it?

yes molly give birth young alive but do feed young with milk

Well good conductors of what? Heat or electricity?
Since you in p3/p4, i assume you mean heat.

Heat conductors include metal like iron and steel.
Heat insulators include non metals like plastics, water and rubber.

Heat conductor means the material (example Steel) allows heat to pass through it easily.
Heat insulator means the material (example Plastic) does not allow heat to pass through easily.
