Download to your iphone - Traffic (from explorer tchnologies) which saved us getting stuck in jams/floods this morning.

The alerts sent in from users warned of non-moving traffic at braddell and flood near eunos. We got to ds’ school 45 minutes late as we were able to detour the affected areas and not get stranded somewhere.

This app complements LTA’s cameras and news webby.Very useful as the NEA website only warns of floods in low-lying areas.

You’re welcome, auntiem! Even radio reports aren’t complete. Better to rely on users, eh?

Looks like we really need a better drainage system.

Bukit Timah has been known to be a flood zone, once the rain starts to pour but to think that it can cause flash floods, that’s new. Since the 1st incident in June, I wonder if PUB is doing anything more with the present drainage system. Pity the residents who park in the basement carpark of Coronation Plaza and condos around here.

Hopefully when parents register their kids on Thur, they won’t be held back by the floods at the gates of Nanyang.

Sent my dd to sch this morning and saw a big tree uprooted and had its crown in the monsoon drain… Nearly blocking the monsoon drain… If the next freak rain comes down, it’ll flood even earlier… The roots are in the hostel…

with most of the drains now covered up, they can’t clear all the silt and mud accumulated in there as compared with open drain, hence it is now easier to flood as the drains have become shallower

watch it those around jalan haji alias … they are covering up the big drain there…worse floods will come
