      Hi,

Have been taught to remove oil stains by dabbing baby powder on the stain first b4 washing.

      Happy washing.

      why baby powder :?

Powder/talc 'absorbs' the oil and make cleaning up a breeze. Handy for food stains..
Sometimes my mum would dab the stain with lemon/lime and leave overnight too.. 😉

I have ants all over my house especially on the kitchen table top and they crawl all over my food if I leave them on the counter top. How do I get rid of them ie the whole ant nest wherever they are. I have tried the ant \"poison\" several times where they are supposed to come out and take it back to their nest but it didn't work at all.

the ants are from the GEP stream

Oh dear, how to make them fail their exams, go to normal technical so that they are easier to handle ? Gosh, I never thought I have GEP stream ants but not GEP stream kids. :stupid:

I've tried using baby oil. Its quite effective but will be very oily. So after using that, u have to use detergent to remove the oil. 😛

Hi jedamum, below is what I've googled. I only know oil base can remove the sticky adhensive well but didn't know the others. 😄

30 Helpful Items To Remove Sticky Adhesive Goo
Things like price stickers and labels, different types of tape (packing, masking, scotch tape) can leave behind a sticky, gooey residue that’s a tricky mess to remove. Here’s a list of items that can help make the cleanup job a lot easier.

                1. Nail Polish Remover
                2. Petroleum Jelly
                3. Toothpaste
                4. Hand Lotion
                5. Hair Spray
                6. Baby Oil (mineral oil)
                7. Vinegar (soak cloth, apply to goo then leave for awhile–even overnight)
                8. Rubbing Alcohol
                9. Windex
                10. Baking Soda & Water Paste (just rub gently into the goo, then wipe off with a warm wet cloth)
                11. Lighter Fluid
                12. Kerosene
                13. WD-40 (set for 5 minutes)
                14. Paint Thinner
                15. Rubber Cement Thinner
                16. Artgum Erasers / Pencil Erasers
                17. Peanut Butter
                18. Vegetable Oil / Olive Oil (set for about 2 hours)
                19. Margarine
                20. Cooking Spray
                21. Mayonnaise (leave set for a few hours or overnight)
                22. Goo Gone
                23. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
                24. Furniture Polish
                25. Eucalyptus Oil
                26. Tea Tree Oil
                27. Perfume / Aftershave
                28. PVC Pipe Cleaner
                29. For surfaces that you’re afraid to damage, try heating the sticky goo with a hair dryer then wiping off (firmly) with a wet warm & soapy cloth.
                30. Duct Tape (stick on goo firmly, life tape up quickly, repeat as needed)

It does but only for a short while. Need to sandpaper down and if possible, have a little coat of some thinner-like stuff (can't remember the name....oops!)

If your switch plates are getting yellowish with age and daily use, use a soft toothbrush (kids old toothbrush) and small amount of toothpaste (darlie / colgate).

                        Works like magic.. 😉
