Oh God, I am so sad that as a Catholic, I have problems sending my son to a Catholic school within 1 km of my home...why why why?

      😢
Well at least it is still 2B šŸ™‚ I know what you mean although my situation is that there are no catholic schools nearby (although \"nearby\" is relative).

ya..too bad...Kellock is really a good school. My girl enjoy very much.

Well, not sure why Catholic parents do not send their kids to Catholic school. Some of my church friends do not even know they are register under phrase 2B.

We are staying in Tampines, next to St Hilda.

But we prefer to send our boy to Catholic school.
Seems like, the nearest are Maris Stella and St Stephen?
Maris Stella sounds very popular this year. Our chance should be low.
            Is St Stephen OK?
Or is there any other Catholic boy/mix school near Tampines?

                gathered from bishan thread...

Catholic High gives priority to Parent Volunteers at appeal stage (waiting list), no priority for Catholics. One of the moms called CHS and heard this from the lady who picked up the phone. Plan your strategy well.

Thanks. Think Hai Sin is secondary only.

I need help for info on St. Gabriel and Montford Junior.

Wanted to register for Maris Stella or SJIJ but it seem the competition maybe too keen. We are considering venturing further to put our son in a Catholic School. It seem like the take up rate for St. Gabriel and Monfort Junior is not high. In fact, there are still vacancies even after Phase 2C. Any parents with kids in these 2 schools can give me more insight of the schools? I would really appreciate that. Thanks in advance.

                      Hi Bigfoot
I am in the same situation. Was thinking of St Gab at Phase 2C Supp but if you look at the balloting history, we >2km don't stand a chance at that phase. So if you want to guarantee a place, go at Phase 2C.

St Gab's not bad coz my fren sent his son there last year after losing the Rosyth ballot. He says his son is enjoying school. My colleague has a son in Montfort after losing the Holy Innocents ballot. She has \"no comments\" except that the badminton is good.

Last resort for a Catholic education is Montfort but it seems the vibes are mediocre...look at their TUR at Phase 2C Supp, still not totally filled. And it is >6km away from us. But I guess Montfort is still better than Guangyang who only filled 25% of 150 places after Phase 2C Supp - which means it will cater to the foreigners at Phase 3.

bigfoot and cherrygal - i admire you pple.

I think i will only try for catholic schools in 2B - and i think the furthest i will go is MS. I stay in Tiong Bahru. MS is already very far for me - so cant imagine St Gabs and Montfort - which is even further!!!

Think if it goes into balloting and if im not successful - i will prob go with a neighbourhood school near my house in 2C!!
