All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

went online to check there are about 6 schools within 1km of my hse. The nearest one is considered quite popular in woodlands and I have not done any PV for my son who needs to register this year... is it too late to start now? :?

Hi myprecious
Yes, if you are registering this year for the 2010 (primary 1) intake. Most parent volunteer would be finishing soon. -
To all who have done PV work before, I would like to ask if schools that seek out PV parcel out things for PVs to do throughout the year?
Reason I asked is that I joined PV for a SAP school in late 2008. For a while, there were loads of things PVs could participate in. However in 2009, there has been NO work for PVs (at least not when I checked).
In comparison, a friend joined PV for an elite school earlier this year and she has been clocking time like a speeding train, and there seems a lot of more things coming ahead.
I am just fretting if I will manage to clock the required hours by the time I need to register (that's in 2010 - ks syndrome). it's quite aggravating cos we've clocked slightly more than half the hours already.'

hi myprecious, since we both leave in the same area, mind sharing which you think is the best school in woodlands? How does your school line-up look like?
BTW, my K1 is due for registering in 2010. A few on my list are Evergreen, Admiralty and Woodgrove - but no idea which is betterโฆ Thank for sharing -

opps, sorry myprecious, just saw your previous entry... so you will go for Phase 2C of Evergreen as first choice?
BTW, which is the nearest popular school you were referring to? The environment ok? The children coming out of the school well behaved? -
RRMummy:
Most likely Evergreen as first choice for phase 2C.myprecious:

Evergreen is the nearest school to my place. Haven't really check up on the school's background but heard from a parent that Evergreen has alot of homework. I believe there is no 100% well behaved students in any school be it the most popular or least popular. It very much depends on our own children's discipline.
