Ha ha ... I thot I was the only mum who had problems with Francis. He actually told me off when I complained to him about my gal CCA bus. I never had any problems until this year. Hope they will loose the contract next year !!!
Have spoken with Francis and driver of the transport company but they make it seems like my mistake of not going down earlier. Still say that I very rude to raise my voice at them when I am questioning them on how they can do this……Tri-mum:
Hi Sharmum,
Oh dear, how can the driver do that? I think you have to talk to the driver and not the office coz sometimes the feedback or complaint doesn't channel from office to the driver. There was once my girl reached home earlier and my mum was not at the pick up point yet and the driver called my HP and said he is waiting downstair and now i will ask my mum to wait 5-7min earlier coz sometimes the timing is so irregular since the CCA has started. Each day there will be gals staying back for CCA so less gals to send home.
Any idea why the boss said there will be another mess next week? Can someone give me the boss HP number juz in case I need to find him?
Then, I spoke with SMPS Ops Mgr and she told me that Richard is the boss not Francis and I should highlight this to Richard so that he is aware of the situation ( saw my hesitation to call him – I worry about my dd safety). Then, she told me all the more I should call and inform him – but unable to reach him.
But when I check with the Ops Mgr (SMPS), she mentioned that noting in particular is going on next week – except earlier dismissal on the CNY Friday. This is really tiring and frustrating.... :stupid: -

Hope this chaos will not happen again when school begins next week. Anyway, now prepared for it liao. Given my daughter a handphone so that we can communicate if this kind of situation happens again....

I have the same concerns as you... have you got any feedback?
Thanks!Tri-mum:
Hi watchthewaves, most of the time the worksheets are done in school unless they can't finish it then they will have to bring it home to complete it. SMSP will not download the gals with many homeworks. So far, my gal only brought home Math homework thrice and english writing twice.
Yes, they have personal locker outside the classroom and the workbooks are usually keep by teachers. So far, my gal put her Chinese and Math textbook in her bag because I don't allow her to leave them in the locker so that I can go thru with her anytime I want. The rest like CME/music/art&craft material can be kept in the locker.
I'd like to hear from parents with daughters from any level (the higher the level, the better I guess, because you would have more experience to draw on), to get a sense of how you feel on:
(1) Student development:
(a) academically,
(b) CCA, and
(c) character.
(2) Teachers (how are they?).
(3) Strengths and weaknesses of the school.
Also, when you speak to friends with kids in other schools, how do you feel the school stands?
My desire is for schools that care for the character of the student while at the same time, finding ways to motivate students to challenge themselves academically. Character-building cannot be an excuse for poor academic results. (I'm just stating my own desire of schools in general here, just to put a context to my questions above. I'm not making any comment on any school at all.)
If you prefer not to share publicly, please PM me. Thanks. -
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone DD is in Pri 4? -
Gym has begun for the P1s. My daughter says her teacher speaks only Chinese. After the first lesson, my husband asked my daughter’s form teacher, who told us the gym teacher is from China and doesn’t speak English. But another teacher is there to translate for the non-Chinese. But after the second lesson, my daughter said there was no other teacher so she just followed the other kids.
Does any parent here have any input on this? Has your daughter told you there is only one China teacher? Please do let me know as I’m very concerned about this. Thanks! -
Hi jacsplace
I understand from my kid that for the benefit of those who are non Chinese, there is always a local PE teacher to help translate the instructions from the gym coach. So not to worry! -

Thanks ponyo and doraemo. That's what the form teacher told us after the first lesson, but when we asked our daughter after the second lesson, she claims the PE teacher wasn't there. And at the third lesson, she said the China gym teacher tried communicating with the non-Chinese girls via sign language!

No, didn't hear from anyone via PM, so what you read here is it. What I've heard from outside the forum is also consistent. Well-rounded school; kid won't be pressured academically.
