i think it is very irresponsible for the school to take in so many PVs and then have to ballot them to disappoint them

parents may feel free to disagree
My take is IF the school informed all the PVs ala mass breifing on the total # taken then the responsibility is ultimately on the parents. Otherwise, really I don't understand the rational behind the massive PVs accepted either..

so frustrating to even look.. :frustrated:

        There are schools as follows:

        1. accept whatever number of PVs.
        2. control and limit the number of PVs.
        3. don’t even allow PVs.

For 1, School will have a large pool of PV. Hence, a huge resource for free work.

For 2, Fair deal. School gets whatever number they deem successful based on historical stats.

For 3, Perhaps the fairest. School only consider those whom offered their service to the larger community (e.g grassroots). Else, everyone else is in the same level of playing field.

Whatever the case, it is always good to find out which system is adopted by the school and see if it matches with your individual values/beliefs.

Best of luck to all in 2B.

I am one of the PV in West Grove Primary School, i was told that this year they only accept no more than 40 PVs for year 2012 P1 enrollment rather than 100 over PVs. Possibility they knew some fairer allocation needed to be done.

I can sense that they are carefully restructure and at least they already take action on this.

Well, i attended the briefing for PVs’ task and i do talked with some parents and from there i realize that parents there majority are quite high demand in academic.

Hope to see this school can produce more Genius! in future.

West Grove 努力! 努力! 再努力! we can do it! yep!

                    BlurBee,

                    Thanks for the info.

I also see this on MOE web site, Any idea what does it mean? The list is only meant for Phase 2B children registering or for Phase 2C onwards?
                    http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/balloting/

                    Thanks again.

It's for those who registered last week during P2B.
