RI or HCI

Just curious how many will choose a sec school because it is 'prestige' even though you do not like the culture or is in a distance away?
distance can be solved by moving house, or buying a second house .... -
markfch:
you can't go to both schools concurrently, but you can own properties in both Watten Estate and Coronation Rd
This type of wicked qn I liked. Cos I hope that by talking about it, somehow will increase the probability this becomes my problem in future  It's like asking between Watten Estate & Coronation Rd, which bungalow you want to buy? :please:verykiasu2010:
Dear Parents
If you have offers from both RI and HCI, which will you choose ? Please justify the choice made.
(I know this is a wicked question!)
My choice? I will always go for RI. There's something about the prestige of RI that is compelling. When someone tells me that his/her kid is in RI, I straight away feel utmost respect them. Cos 虎父无犬子
But HCI people don't :clubmyself: me ok. I'll break an arm for ds to go HCI too. -
HCI. The choice is more a cultural & upbringing preference, not just for the 4 yrs of Sec but also 2 JC yrs when they will merge with RGS/NYGH.
RI would be the choice if DS wants to do
1) MEP
2) bi-cultural studies but still wishes to retain most subjects in English medium -

Of course in the end, the choice is the kid's perogative to make. I'm just saying if the kid doesn't have any real preference, I would nudge him into RI

How strong is RI's bicultural studies in comparison with HCI ? -
Thot their bi-cultural studies requires one to study subjects like history, literature in chinese? This was one major different I’ve identified between HCI & RI bi-cultural studies. Pls correct if I’ve got it wrong.
I meant for HCI’s bi-cultural studies, subjects like history and literature are taught in Chinese? -

the key subjects under bicultural studies are in Chinese - RI & HCI -
If I have already one kid in RI, I will let the 2nd kid go to HCI. or vice versa...
to diversify my family pool of talents...

anther consideration might be kid’s Eng/Chinese proficiency level.
if my kid’s Eng is better then CL, i might put him to HCI provided he doesn’t resent it…
