bigfoot:
Nope. I didnt hear anythg abt that. Only heard orientation on Nov 13 at 9am! I was too happy to hear anythg else. Congrats to both of us!vicki:
Bigfoot, namie, ben2010, how? Did u get it also? So stressful! I was the 53 or 54 number to be picked! Wanted to cry tears of joy!!
Mine was like 62 or 63. Wow. Down to the last 7. So many repeat and yet my son's name was not called. Already planning for Phase 2C when his name appear. Thank God. He heard our prayers.
Now I finally know how nerve wrecking the experience can be. I was so nervous that I dunno whether to laugh at the jokes. Can't even bring myself to look at this forum during the process. lol. Luckily I don't have to go thru it anymore with my second son.
I hope namie and ben2010 got it too. BTW did they mention about abt schoolbus arrangement just now? -
bigfoot:
So does it mean that at times the same child's name is called 2x? So it is just using marked papers with registration numbers of child, right? Yes, can imagined the stress & heart pounding moments.
Each SC were given 2 ballots while SPR were given 1. Put all into a fish bowl. Then 10 ballots were drawn each time. So u can imagine how panicky the parents can be each time the 10 names was read out and your son's name is not among them. I had to wait till the last 7 names.growie:
Hi Vicki!
Can you tell us how the balloting was conducted? Using ping pong balls..? How does the 2 ballot slips vs 1 slip for PR work? I think most of us would be curious to know. :?
BTW, any reporters around??
But first..... :congrats: :celebrate: -
bigfoot:

Understand. My DW was quite emotional when our DS name was flashed. We were too happy to listen carefully to the announcement. Only heard something about schoolbus. I felt sorry for the lady in pink though. The one who helped to open the ballot slip. I can't imagine myself standing there and not seeing my son's name each time I open the slip. I was hoping for her son's name to be called (ie after my son's name was called). -
GOT IT!!! Gosh, my heart almost stopped beating and it seemed like all hope was gone. We were like the number 58th to be called. Just one after us, they announced the last seven names to be drawn.
Thank you all for your well wishes.
My husband taking me to The Line later for celebration. -

If the child's name has been called earlier, it will be treated as a repeat ballot. No vacancy will be taken up and the ballot continue. Towards the end of the balloting, there were many repeat ballots. So had to keep drawing from the fish bowl.So does it mean that at times the same child's name is called 2x? So it is just using marked papers with registration numbers of child, right? Yes, can imagined the stress & heart pounding moments.
