Hi janet_lee88! Thanks for the reply. How are the teachers in this school? I know the school fare well in their academic ranks. How about teaching the students moral values, leadership skills, building confidence etc? CCA?
Hi gracey109, PH is a school founded with Christian values so there will be a lesson on CV each week. They have devotion time before lesson starts each day at the hall. In terms of building confidence, the school organises programmes like \"Pei Hwa Got Talent', \"I am A Star\" to encourage the kids to exercise their abilities on stage. They start having Junior Prefects at P2 to build their leadership skills. There are also various positions in class such as subject reps to teach the kids responsibilities and teamwork.
As for teacher quality, it all depends on how you look at it. There are no perfect teachers.
These are the teachers my dd had crossed paths with: strict, no-nonsense teachers who emphasize on the quality of work, jovial teachers who tell jokes to the kids during lessons, meticulous teachers who scrutinise every detail of work, caring teachers who show concern even when they are no longer teaching them. Actually, my dd is only P2 so frankly, she has not had so many teachers yet, but so far, her teachers are rather good.
You can check out the school's website too.

ok. thanks for the feedback! whew! tigress!
Don't worry about the 'tigresses'. As long as the child behaves, he/she is fine. I volunteered to bring son's class out last year and realized that the teacher had to be fierce bcos the same group of boys were behaving badly outside. -
hi parents,
Just got ds's confirmation letter. Orientation is on 19-Nov. What do they do with the kids during orientation? Some yrs back, my friend's kid in another hot sch nearby was given 200 words for spelling during orientation, to be tested in first week of jan. How's that as an introductory gift? -

A friend of mine who \"missed the cut\" to PHPPS had the child in Bt Timah Pri and they had a mini entrance exam. The girl said very difficult papers. BTW, this girl is now in PHPPS and doing tops since transfer.hi parents,

Here, orientation for parents is long lecture, for kids, mainly get to know each other, no tests. My DS played games during orientation. Not as stressful as we imagined. Infact, I find here, the kids have a lot lesser homework than neighborhood schools. Those schools push the kids even more to move up the ranks.
Forgettable during my PTM in P1, asked teacher, how's DS doing in school, her reply \"oh, he's so cute, I wish I can hug him all the time\". :rotflmao: but from what I know, she's a no nonsense teacher. Can't blame her, where there's boys, there's chances of trouble brewing somewhere. -

Thanks for the info, blurqueen. Wait, if you're blurqueen and I'm getting info from you, what does that make me? super blurking.
