Losing weight after pregnancy
-
Hi there ladies,
Just a word of encouragement ......
I too gained weight after my son's 2nd birthday due to a variety of reasons, one of which is that I became careless and neglected watching what I ate.
In April, I made a resolution to lose the weight I put on. So far I have lost 4kg since then. I still need to lose some more. Its a very slow process but steady if you put your mind to it. Slow because I don't have the time to do high impact exercise.
Basically I identified my weaknesses ie carbo, sweet things etc ... and cut down on them. For eg, when I go to Fish and Co, I order grill fish with salad and not rice or potato chips. As for dessert, if my DH wants to have it, I just take one or two spoons from him.
Because I like to snack also ..., I have switched to dried fruits and nuts. I also tried Schweppes' baked sweet potato chips recipe. They are really yummy, esp if you can get those sweet potatos from Indonesia.
One thing I never miss is breaskfast cuz if I do, I tend to overeat during lunch.
We can even create a 'Lets Lose Weight' thread to cheer each other and share recipes and restaurants that can accomodate your 'special requests' during meal ordering.
Any takers?

For both my pregnancies, I gained about 10kg. Lost the 10kg within the 1st mth after birth. Could wear most of my pre-pregnancy clothes but due to flabbiness, some do not fit as well as before. Boobs of course no pre-preg size much to DHβs delight.
My kids were on full EBM. I was pumping like 300ml every 3-4 hrs. And was hungry every 2hrs. Worse then b4 birth. But whatever I ate was burnt. By the time I went back to work, I was lighter then b4 preg but stomach still flabby. When I stopped breastfeeding, I had to make a conscious effort to control my food intake. But ended still piling on some weight after I stopped expressing.
After some lifestyle changes, managed go even below my pre-pregnancy weight but somehow, no way to get rid of that small little pouch between my belly button and my C-sect scar. -
I gained 20 KG during my 1st pregnacy; pregnant again when 1st DD was only 9 mths
No time to lose weight!!! :!: -

i shared the same scenario with you, for all my 3 pregnancies! but one thing i didn't do is the lifestyle changes and the changes in my eating habits... i put on like 10kg after i stop the breastfeeding! hence the weight is still there and the flabby tummy...

However, i think i really have to change my eating habits to look something similar to yours!
When i was in Europe 2 months back, i also just eat the meat portion, cos they served a lot of fries and was getting heaty so didn't eat them at all, and surprising i didn't put on any weight at all after my half a month stay there. guess its really is the carbo. .... but the thing is... I LOVE carbo!
went to see the doc, he is recommending me to take Reductile. it will control the food intake amount actually - you will still feel hungry, but it will help to send a full signal back to your brain faster and earlier so you will stop eating, thus cutting back on the amount you eat and will help you lose some weight. i'm on it now for 2 weeks... have stopped the piling on weight at least. now i should cut back on the carbo... -
If it makes you gals feel better, I am still overweight by 15 kg (from my ideal) and have not lost the 8 kg over my pre-pregnancy weight... I am so heavy that my knees are painful if I squat or kneel. My dd is already 9 mths old! How to lose the kilos?
My hubby just tells me to go running or exercise but I have no time...all my free time is spent on the baby coz my mom also wants her break.
I heard of a mom who lost weight by running after work but she's lucky that her support structure is good that she doesn't need to rush home after work to take over the baby...

Wow! Must have been tough on your body. Not much time to recover from the first pregnancy yet, and have to look after your DD.I gained 20 KG during my 1st pregnacy; pregnant again when 1st DD was only 9 mths

Share a funny story about my Mom. She is a petite lady. When she was pregnant with my older brother and I, she put on more than 20 kilos each time. After she delivered me and was groggy from the gas they gave her, she glanced at her still bulging and very big tummy and shrieked: \"Why haven't you taken the baby out?\" I was of course, lying in the crib next to her, sleeping quietly

I had both my first 2 pregnacies at 20+ year old. The first one I gained 20kg and 2nd 16kg. I went back to my original weight after 2nd and 1st mth respectively after birth. I can fit into all the cloths and pants before pregnancy. For my 3rd pregnacy I gained 20kg as well. However, it took mths to went back to the original weight and the waist still remain βbigβ. It took 5yrs for me to fit into one of my jean but the rest still canβt. After 2yrs it reduced another 1 inch, but still have another inch to go to fit into the pants that I have. So for my case, the age of pregnancy matter, the older the more difficult to recover not just the shape the health too. I can feel the different.
