2010 P1 Registration Exercise for 2011 In-Take
-
Luanee:
during the first year that RGPS shifted to Hillcrest (present location), they upped the intake to 300 (present intake).....lo and behold, there was even vacancies all the way to ...phase 3 ? everyone got in, even if they were from Ubin or Tekong
And rgps has to ballot within 1km too, first time in history..janet_lee88:
Schools definitely know by yesterday who stay within 1km. Pei Hwa, Nanyang, MGS are those facing ballot.
All the best to all parents who have to ballot.
an intake of 300 in a girl school equals to 600 in a co-ed school -
marmum:
Really nail biting seeing so many schools having balloting for phase 2c. And am one mum waiting nervously for the actual ballot next week.
Good Luck to you!!! :rahrah:

Question: I saw the updated registrations on MOE site and the school that I have registered stated the vacancy for phase 2C is 188 and after the 3 days registration for phase 2C, the amount of ppl registered is 88, does that means there is no balloting at all for the phase 2C registered students since the number did not exceed the vacancy placements? Meaning will my placement be confirmed? Iām just eager to know hehe.

If the number of applicants < number of vacancies, then all applied will get a place in the school.

Yes, in this case demand is lower than supply. No need to ballot.
You are safe. :congrats: -

WOOHOO!! *passes champagne to all* :hi5:

hmm.. is it so difficult for the school to just add 1 more place?
btw, for those case of small over demand, do they pick the one that got in (picking 62 names) or the one that didn't get in (2 names)? Juz wondering whether schools do things \"efficiently\".....markfch:
But 62 out of 64 is still a good bet. For such a good sch, I'm willing to wager on it. My colleague told me that during his time (another sch), 30 out of 31 balloting. The one that didn't make, her mum cried on the spot
