Now if one lives within 500m to ACSP, and just a hairline over 1km to ACSJ, what would be your advise if one goes for Phase 2B ? Is it correct of me to think one has equal chance for both ?


I guess, it really boils down to which ACS is better or prefered. Any kind souls to share their insights (the voting stats is almost equal :? )

try the last minute withdrawal method - station one parent each at ACJS and ACPS. After looking at the stats, decide only on the last day at 4 pm which school to finally register (must register in one first). This step can be repeated at 2C if u fail at 2B.

All things being equal, go to ACPS. It's nearer...and I'm biased. Best is yet to be!

P.S. try not to say \"ACSJ\" or \"ACSP\" - hard core ACSians will tell you it's \"ACPS\" and \"ACJS\".

Actually I preferred ACS Pri because it has after school care in its campus so easier for my son to go after school care but it seems safer to register him in ACS Jnr.

Hi,
There is a after school care @ the nearby Community Centre. THere are a group of boys from ACSJ goes there after school. I understand that the after school care have transportation sent to the school (ACSJ) and a teacher will get these boys up the bus to transport them to the after school care. Sorry, I have forgotten what is the name of this afterschool care. You can check from the Community Centre.

Thanks for sharing. I know about this ASC but thought it will be easier to go ASC in the campus, no need to take school bus or walk across the road (lead by teacher/or staff) to CC on Wednesday.

i have called the ASC at cairnhill, now they have transport from Monday to Friday.

Anyone knows about Learning Bliss at Nanyang? The ratio there is better and they split according to primary level.

i’m new here. may i know if my hubby used to study acs(primary) only, does it mean my son will be in phase 2A2 when register for P1? i understand from a friend that a parent needs to be in acs(p), acs(sec) in order to meet the criteria? appreciate ur advise. thank you!

For sake of ACJS we are really cracking our heads!

I have 2 children- an older daughter and a son. We are really caught in the middle. Being within 1 KM of MGS and are members of the Methodist church, getting my daughter to MGS should not be of a problem.. but it is my son who will be going into Primary 1 that will be a headache.. if we wish to send him to ACJS, it would mean we have to shift 1km beside the school, but we are really only 2.5km away!

If we act now and shift next to ACJS which is also beside SCGS, that would mean we would have to apply to SCGS as a PV which is another risk altogether because PV spaces are limited to selected few with desired skill sets.

What would mummies and daddies here do?

acsj is near to scgs but definitely not beside scgs. that would be acsp.

if you live within 1km of scgs, you probably would be out of the within 1km range of acsj.

I think you should take one child at a time. Since your daughter is older, you should focus on getting her into a good school first, before considering shifting for your younger boy.

Having said that, looking at past stats, you have a better chance of getting into SCGS at Phase 2B than at MGS, assuming you are within 1km. The difficult part is getting accepted into SCGS as a PV.

Why don't you try getting in as a PV at SCGS first. If you are accepted, then it's a no-brainer to shift to within 1km of both SCGS and ACPS, which would give you a good shot at both schools for your kids. Both are excellent schools in my opinion, and with affiliated secondary schools.

But if you don't get accepted as a PV, then you'll have to consider between MGS and SCGS. Past stats suggest that being within 1km of SCGS at Phase 2C is still a better shot than MGS at Phase 2B.
