AppleCrumble:
Thanks for the sound advice. :salute: Will tell DD to try to be an encouraging and supportive friend. One lesson learned - nothing is for sure, not even for a GEPer applying for DSA, contrary to what many people believe. :scared:[/quote]That's so true. My dd had a couple of friends who didn't get any DSA offers and they were very demoralized as everyone else had offers. So supportive friends are important now.
That must be quite disappointing for the girl. But there's always PSLE and she must persevere. Sometimes the girls who are rejected find it difficult to pick themselves up and she musn't fall into that rut.jtoh:

This classmate's exempted from taking the GAT, so I would reckon that her results must be good. I have come into contact with her, nice gal - polite, mature and speaks well. Hence, the rejection came as a surprise. -

Hi AppleCrumbleDD just came home and told me sadly that one of her classmates was NOT accepted in her DSA application to RGS. The e-mail came yesterday.
Advised DD to encourage her classmate to try to do well for the upcoming PSLE and get in through the central S1 posting exercise (if she is still keen on going to RGS).
My dd GEP also received rejected e-mail from RGS yesterday. Although she is sad, she said she will study harder to get in her dream school.Hope your dd classmates will do the same. -

Thanks for your encouragement. :salute: In life, there will be disappointments. The more important thing is to know how to pick oneself up and move on with courage. This takes character.

Just pray that all the kids who do not receive favourable response will know how to move on courageously and do their best for the PSLE.
Here's to your DD :ugogirl: -

Our DDs are very fortunate to get a confirmed offer.. AppleCrumble, is your DD from RGPS? Some of my DD's classmates also did not get in, about 10 out of the whole GEP cohort.

It seems that all those who got CO are from RGPS. In the past pp have been complaining that RGPS is not affiliated with RGS, may be action taken liao.

cannot suka suka change to affiliation
all government schools even bearing the same names have no affiliation
RGS, RGPS & RI are all government schools
HCI, NYPS, NYGH are founded by private individuals, now government aided schools but there is a board of directors formed by the community and the schools got to raise money for their program & buildings -
angelee998, I have pm you. Your dd very 'xiao xi ling tong' to know how many of her classmates did not get accepted.
Zann, if my guess is correct, angelee998's dd is from RGPS and thus your comments do not 'hold water'. RGS also rejects girls from RGPS.
