The flooding in Bukit Timah will scare people away from living there, so next year there won't be balloting until the >2km bucket!!

Floods in Bukit Timah won't scare parents away. Used to stay at Duchess and hoping for floods so that we don't need to go to school or maybe late...attended Swiss Cottage then.

Any dip in prices in BT area will be a good opportunity to buy.

if you have bought an apartment, condo or even landed here, you will become millionaires if you sell now. I have seen the average psf in 2005 was 700, now, it is 1500 psf. With both downtown (2015) and cicle (2011 - botanic) lines in the pipeline, the properties here will never go down to 1998, 2001, 2003, 2007 and 2009 prices.

I was wrong, there will be a major correction and the prices will fall lower than any of the last 4 recessions. It will not be long in the near future.

                  Juanthedragon,

Houses are premium in Bukit Timah and prices won’t fall. Good schools are mostly in BT area.

Most owners of properties there have holding powers. Only a prolonged major recession will bring prices down, and no one should wish for that as should that happens, lots of companies will close and lots of people will be unemployed.

well said, i can imagine parts of bukit timah submerged, causing flood waters to rise knee-high, partially submerging ground-floor buildings and cars and causing untold damage.”. FYI, bukit timah was hit twice (nov 09 and jul 10). Not all properties in bukit timah are premium, there are alot of affordable properties if you know where to find them (below 1K psf).
