What do u do for daily drinking water at home?

Water straight off d tap in Singapore is safe to drink,
      but doesn’t taste good.
Do u still boil d tap water first, use water coolers or use a home filtration system?
Does home filtration systems improve d taste? Which brand is good?

Apparently, bottled water is good business.
Isn’t dis puzzling in Singapore since tap water is potable.
Save for a few genuine mountain/spring water,
most are plainly distilled water with added minerals
      selling at highly inflated prices.
Why pay so much for distilled water?
Convenience when outdoors, aversion to NeWater, herd instinct, marketing hype..etc?

… but not a drop to drink.

We drink tap water (boiled and then cooled) at home.
When we go out, we put the same water in reusable bottles for drinking.
We bathe in it, put it in DD’s inflatable mini pool, cook with it, make beverages with it…

We don’t buy bottled water, not even at the cinemas. I bring in our own water bottles and when the attendents try to stop me, I’d usually tell them:"If I don’t drink water, I will die. You wouldn’t want that in your nice cinema, would you?"

Am looking into home filteration system. Research process still in its infancy stage 😉

Am a strong advocate of the fact that the type of water you drink determines your overall health.

We bring our own water out. Only purchase if we run out of it. And that too we go for Evian brand - not being snooty but somehow the others just taste funny.

We drink boiled water at home. We try to avoid cold water, even at restaurants.

In fact the hot water flask is on until 9pm everyday so hot/boiled is just a cup away ... 😄

I don't really care - I do drink boiled water, and also that from the tap (unless the estate is really old and I start thinking about the condition of the pipes). In any case, I do believe in testing my stomach a bit. if i keep imbibing very clean stuff, there may come a day I need to intake not as clean food....and then I'll be in trouble. 😛

I tried a few out of necessity or curiosity - don't taste good.
D one from Scottish Highlands is not bad.

If u put a filter at your tap n check out the sendiments,
                      it may turn u off.
Water do pick up impurities in d pipes,
but I think those are generally OK.
While serving NS, we topped up straight from taps everyday.
where got boil water; n we r still here.
But i hv since stopped taking straight from d tap.
                      Its d taste.

I was also thinking of dis problem.
If my sons get used to drinking better tasting water
can they get thro' NS drinking straight off d taps?

I dunno. It's could be due to many variants. The age of the house/building/pipes. Even if you put in brand new pipes and spiffy new filtration system, if the building/house you're in is very old, the taste can only be \"improved\" slightly.

DH and I figured we've been drinking NEWater for ions before they even announced it. So when people made a big hoohah about drinking their own recycled \"water\", we thought \"why?\". We should be thankful our little red dot has a mini water solution. When push comes to shove, NEWater plus our reserviors may not be enough for everyone in a real emergency.

One tip though: My Daddy used to run the tap water a little before filling my mug. I was too young then to remember the taste, but I do know that it makes the water cooler, as we on on a very hot island.
