ikae:
hi, you meant can put my gal's name on waitlist at YT?
Yes, dearie. :hugs:
Waitlisting your child's name there will deem you're definitely still interested
in the school regardless if your child is already enrolled elsewhere. Many who
got balloted out from SV and DLS do still put their children's names on waitlist
and they are ready to make the shift and all the necessary sacrificial changes
that come with it, especially if they are really really near to the school & yet
still got balloted out due to limited vacancies. Do call the school to find out
more, ok ikae? Different schools will have different protocol. -
mhtan:
Your first time here and you're already doing good, mhtan. :love:Pls pardon my skills in the reply as this is my first time. Have been reading the forum page quite some time as really appreciate the forumers kind views as it were useful.
I thought I could help as I have been doing some research on Kranji.I think it is not true that the principal was from YT. I think the new kranji principal is from Loyang in Pasir Ris I think. The previous principal has rotated to Canberra Pri Sch. Hope this helps
Your sharing has diffused many hearsays & rumours that may unnecessarily
stir confusion in parents within the neighbourhood. As your facts were taken
from actual context and the truth behind those hearsays, let's hope parents
here can understand a bit more on the Principal history of schools within this
area in mention over the recent posts. While it is not entirely justifiable to say
that a good Principal alone will spur success in a school since there are too
many people involved in building that reputation, (ie. teachers, students, PSG,
parents, other school staff.. (etc)..... a good Principal will spur better motivation
and gear staff, students and parents alike towards that success. It's like in the
workforce as well. When you get a good boss, the plc is a happier plc to work
in and will indirectly initiate motivation, efficiency, initiatives and more....
to make the company a success driven one.ikae:
Yew Tee Pri is in the process of implementing single session. As the school is[Hi mhtan, ur eng/ skills are good! better than me !
i never heard the Kranji Principal is fr YT..yeah it's correct the principal is from Loyang! Just can't understand that since YT got so many applicants why they reduce the seats to 240 and Kranji so less ppl apply but have 270 seats!!! :stupid:
small and no plans of reno works or relocation has been heard thus far, they
have no choice to reduce the intake due to space constraints. Currently, the
P1s and P2s are the only levels in the afternoon. All schools gotta go single
session by a certain deadline (forgot the year..) and so they got to
factor in that there will be sufficient classes for the number of students
offered to study there each year. -
Hi buds, ikae for the encouragement ... feel that my confidence is getting better aleady
Yes, I agree that we need a principal to settle down to see how effective he/she is. From what i heard (but need to be verified), the previous principal in Kranji is quite active in sports in the school and school has sent students for competition locally and overseas.
Hi ikae, would encourage to place your gal on waitlist. Would suggest that you might you to try to speak/meet to the staff/principlal of both schools (YT/Kranji). From there, at least you would have some gut feeling on how they are. Also, check out the website on Loyang where the current Kranji principal was from on their 2009 PSLE results. This would provide you you some indication as well. I recall correctly, I think except for Chinese, all other subjects are above national average. Hope this helps.
Cheers and all the best to all parents for P2C Supp. -

Initially the dateline for all primary schools to go single session was 2016. Earlier this year, it was delayed to 2017. -

Misleading infor...
There are more details about wait list... and how it works.
Phase 2C children on wait list is of lowest priority of being selected in the event of vacancy arises.
Timing too is another factor... -

Hi mhtan: thanks for your valuable suggestion! hmm...hope that one day they will call me if there is vacancy! Also you might want to read thru this whole thread to see if you can fish out some valuable feedback. -

I stand by what i posted. Different schools have different protocol.Misleading infor...There are more details about wait list... and how it works. Phase 2C children on wait list is of lowest priority of being selected in the event of vacancy arises. Timing too is another factor...
I suggested by what i have knowledge of based on my experience
and of friends'. Lowest priority or not and timing are whole other
factors that definitely requires further detailing... which we can
PM one another abt and not necessarily discussed here.
KP, If you are here to assist parents with your knowledge since you
ARE in the industry, i suggest that positive suggestions be posted here
as your form of constructive contribution which i'm sure many will benefit
from. -

I roughly remembered it as 2016 but don't want to
put it up on my post in case there were adjustments
to the deadline or also in the case i remembered wrongly,
hahaa!
