RI or HCI

HCI stringent promotion requirement and HCL requirement to waive at yr 5 might have scare away some students ...
Does that mean that RI does not have such a stringent promotion requirement at year 4?
The principal of RI said all RGS girls and RI boys will be guranteed a place in Year 5.
Oh i see so it does not matter if you do not do well at all. You still can get promoted. This is the BEST GUARANTEE ever! So all the kids should aim for RI and RGS and forget about NYGH/HCI/DHS etc  -

RI will encourage students that score below B4 for HCL to take their H1 Chinese in Year 5. -
My nephew is currently in Hci year 5, and he says that it is easier to be promoted to junior college from RGS and RI then Nanyang or any other schools! RGS girls will automatically be transferred to RJC unless they do not meet very very basic requirements, like getting a pass or fulfilling their minimum CCA attendence. Yep, that’s it. Hoped this helped!

may be the A2 of NYGH is CL, whereas HCI's B4 is for HCL??
I don't think NYGH girls take CL at O levels.
That's why I would be very surprised if NYGH girls need to get A2 when HCI only need to get B4 in Year 4 for CL exemption in Year 5wonderm:

Oh my gosh - why is that so? So even the ones that are just average or below average get a FREE PASS from RGS and RI to get into RJC! The standards must be low so they depend on the few good local students and loads of foreign students to do well at A levels! What a SHAME!
It is heartening to hear that NYGH and HCI take it seriously and ensures that their students meet the high requirements of HIJC before admitting them in! -

Please substantiate your comments. It is irresponsible to pass judgemental comments and sweeping statements like yours if you do not have the facts.nappy:

I, on the other hand, applaud the RI principal for having such huge faith in her pupils and her staff for bringng out the best in everyone, regardless through-train or foreign or newly joined in yr 5. -
If you have two offers - HCI and RI, which one will you choose?
