      Hi ALL,

The June long break is coming. Plan to enroll my gal, 28 months, to a Holiday program where she can learn something.

Any recommendation in the WEST area?? :?

Preschoolers generally don't follow school terms, so why do you want to wait for the June holidays before you start?

Hi, my gal is in Pre Nursary in Galilee Kindergarden. They follow school term. 😄

So since she is used to going for 3 hours class everyday, will not like to change her routine. Concern she may not be used to going school after the long break.

OIC. Well, it's still a bit early now, but you will start seeing lots of advertisements for holiday enrichment courses at the beginning of May. They are mainly \"crash courses\" for primary school kids. For pre-school Chinese, there are courses by providers such as http://www.yuquan.com.sg/course_prechinese.php who would compress their regular courses into intensive programmes where they complete a 8 or 10 week course in 5 to 10 days.

Oh, Guess I too KS...

I have only a gal, so alot of things have to learn from the mommies and daddies here.

Though I may seem not so active in the forum, I am following up on the topics discussed almost everyday.

This is really a good site where a lot of helpful parents are gathered virtually to give support and advise on parenting. This make us feel not so \"alone\".

Thanx for the good work!! :rahrah:

                Hi,

We are going to Australia (by tour group) this coiming June holiday for 7D 6N with my two kids age 4+ and 7+. May I know what are the things that I should take note of as this is the time travelling oversea?

We are going to goldcoast, movie world, dream world, feed dolphin ,etc.

I think there will be a 1 day free n easy. Is there any where that we should not miss out and can go on that free n easy day?

                Thks in advance.

Not sure if I am posting in the correct thread but wonder if there is a available thread about enrichment courses / classes for 5 yrs old in the coming Jun Holiday ?

I haven't been to that part of Oz before but I have been to other parts about 4-5 times. So I can't recommend what you should see there but I can suggest what you should bring. June is early winter but since you're going to the northern part, the temperatures should average between 10-20 degrees celsius.

The sun will still be shining brightly and since there are (so much!) fewer trees there than over here, please bring a hat/cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. Don't be fooled into thinking that a brightly shining sun means you can wear only T-shirts under a thin jacket. Wind is very strong in Oz, since it has big, open spaces. Even if the sun shines as brightly as in S'pore, the strong winds will lower any warmth you get from the sun.

Dress in layers. A long-sleeved shirt followed by a sweater and then a thick coat (to keep out the wind) is fine. There won't be snow so you don't need thickly padded clothing. Gloves, earmuffs, scarves and fluffy hats are not needed. Kind of overkill, actually. How you dress and what you bring eventually depend on how well you tahan the cold. (I wore 4 layers on top and 2 below cos I feel cold easily but my DH wore 2 layers on top and 1 below since he likes the cool weather.)

1st of all, welcome, i see u r new too. (psstt… better go report at newbie or else monitor ‘catch’ u hor…)

7D package (minus 1st n last day flying, left 5D) probably will cover the 3 worlds in 3D (or 2D - 10+ yrs ago when i went in group they squeeze dream & sea world in one day)

Movie world - fun for the kids.

Dream World - great adventure rides. (thrilling for daredevils)

Sea World - other than shows, you guys might wanna get wet with water rides/play. (so swim wear’s a must, thermal ones for the kids if it’s too cold)

schellen covered pretty much on sunblock/outfit part. Night time sure get very cold as even during summer time it’s chilly when sun’s down.

                        Essential things:

                        * bring tidbits/snacks and water along (kill time when queuing) - Not sure if you need to queue during winter, last times we went were summer, so queues were pretty long.

*batteries & chargers (universal adapter too) for cam/video cam. Kiasu Tips8) : if really need to charge during day time, go cafe look for spots w/ wall plug, order drink and charge up while sipping away. Some toilets might have too!

*bring enough storage device if gonna take loads of pics n videos. (we brought along small laptop for recent trips) 😉
