      Hi,

I am thinking of registering my daughter with Juying this wednesday after reading that the general reviews seem ok for this school. Would like to find out roughly what is the ratio of malays to chinese in the school. Would you be able to share that with regard to your child's class?
Hi, hope my reply is not too late for you. I think the ratio of chinese to malay is abt 2:1, in a class of 30 pupils, there are abt 10.

        Dear all,
Like to know is your kid completed the Show n Tell schedule in Aug? Chk w DS n he say his class has not.
        Thks.[/b]
My ds also didn't mention any thing abt the show and tell too!

        Dear all,

Last Q for the day. Like to know how your kid's MT teacher, are you okay with him/her?
DS MT sir seems to be behind schedule ... had skipped spelling for the last 2 weeks. That mean he had not cover the topic. Is it MT teacher is much more busier then FT? Understand fm a mum from another Pri sch that MT teacher has to teach many diff level (not just P1). Is it so?
        Thks.
For my ds's MT, they are covering Unit 12 now. Is it slow or fast? Now they have spelling on alternate weeks. And yes, the MT teachers teach many levels. I'm glad my ds's MT teacher is very responsive to my emails even when they are in English

hi JY, i m coming.... registered for P1 yesterday... thks god no need to ballot...(really nightmare)... hope will like tis school much n hv good teaching staff ......加油 。。

          Welcome to the Juying Family!
Yes, I noe what you mean, balloting is really no joke. This is one of the pull factor for me to join Juying last year too!

I quite like the fact that the sch management promotes open communication with parents, with quarterly parents and teacher meetings (4 times a year)
and other direct modes of communication like via
emails, notes or even hp for some teachers.

So do take note and make full use of it ya! Cheers!

                  Hi Parents,

Heard from student care ctr that Juying will normally closed for 3 days for PSLE written exam. So any idea which day will school be close amount the 5 days of written paper?
6 to 8 Oct is English, MT and Maths paper. 11 Oct is Science and 12th is Higher Mongue Tongue.

So far when the school close, I will try take half-day leave to be with DS so he dont hv to go student care for full day (except June/Dec lah). Considering of going to the kid maze at Jurong Safra.

Then also heard school is closed for PSLE marking days (19-21 Oct).

All in all, there are so many \"off-day\" by the school, govenment should give working parents \"student-care\" leave. :rubhands:

                  Thanks.

When I read ur message on the number of \"no school\" days for my ds,

the first thing tt came to my mind was good,
then I can hve more time to revise my ds work during those off-days for the end year exam!

You're so nice to go on leave and even plan activities during those days! :ugogirl:

Usually during PSLE marking days, the student care will encourage the students to attend student care because that's where they will be giving out 'extra' worksheets for them to prepare for the SA2 exams. Even the student care centres are being 'kiasu' 😛

Anyway, kudos to you for wanting to do the opposite. For all you know, your kid may end up doing better in his exams without all the 'cramming' because there is less stress :celebrate:

                        Hi Yerdua & Sakura,

Actually student care teacher advise me not to take leave on Children day !!! She suggest I go on leave on the day before exam to give 1-to-1 attention. I told her that will stress me out instead :!:

Okay, FT had replied to my question. he he he. No closing during PSLE written paper (6-12Oct), but it will be closed fm 19-22 Oct fm PSLE marking. That is 4 days instead of 3. I’ll update DS student care.
Tentatively, school will be close on 10 Nov. Their school holiday start fm 18 Nov except P5& P6 will attend school on 19th. So no school for DS on 19.
