that's quite true. Maybe primary schools in Singapore should just call \"Public Primary School\", just one principal (like CEO) with each location having region head, and all run base on the same system.

easy for me to say now cos my p1 settle liao- but maybe do admission based on distance. But it may lead to creating 'colonies' around the island...

Hi RRMummy & Jon00, thks for the welcome

I went to Rulang Pri to get the form for PV yesterday. Seems like my chances very slim as I stay outside 2 km.

Btw, anyone can advice how to be their management committe.

If you are staying outside 2km so my guess is that you should be staying near to Jurong Point side, rite? Maybe you can try getting PV form fr West Grove or Jurong West?

              Hi Champion

I’m staying near the Jurong police headquarter. I’ve called up West Grove but they said application for PV will only open next Jan.

I’ve heard that Rulang is better. Thus, was trying my luck but read from this forum that the interview is tough. Also afraid that come phase 2B, may need balloting, then I stay outside 2 km may not even get the chance to ballot

                Sotong_mum,

Both WG and Rulang had ballot under phase 2B. For Rulang, >2km has to ballot (I think 3 places out of 9 PV staying outside 1Km). The interview in Rulang is tough I heard (FYI- I am not a PV nor did I apply to be one), requiring to write an essay on what you can contribute . I think you need to have a strong case to be selected as PV. Good luck 😉

WG & Rulang are my only 2 choices. I may need to think of a backup given the stiff competition

Trust me. They do not judge you by the distance when they screen for PV. Don't give up okay.

of course having said that, you have to be mentally prepared that there might be balloting for >2km at Phase 2B like this year and last.

You do not have to be in the management committee if you are going via the PV route for Phase 2B.

                    Good luck

I’m willing to give it a try even though chances are slim. I was thinking of being their management committee if they reject me as PV. However, according to them, that has to be referred by the SCC (haven’t check with them what’ that) or existing member.

In fact, whichever Sch I volunteer, I intend to continue my service after my gal got in to the school.

I’ve also called at WG but they said they will only open up for registration next Jan.
