Just to share our progress on 汉字王.

My son is not ready to play the scrabble way which I planned as he didn’t know enough words to enjoy the game. Instead, I started from a word & link to a related word with the same 部首. Eg. 跑 I explained that it is related to 足 & leg. Then moved on to 跳 which has the same 足字边. Then I changed the 足to 逃which 兆can take a boat to escape. Then I changed the 兆to车to make 连. When i’m stuck with a word to change 部首, I simply start from another new word from 四五快读.

I find that he can rem the 部首with the illustrated way of changing parts. When he knows more words, I will move on to the scrabble game again. Perhaps with selected 部首at level 1.

Very good method. I think you DS will acquire a lot of words based on the rate you are going. :celebrate:

I intended to draw few 部首to form words like how scrabble is played using letters to form English words. Can have a 部首fixed & keep changing the other side, or each player just form their own words with whatever 部首he picks. Really dep on the level of the players for variation

              Hi Littlewoman

I find Wan's mentioned method is very good.

Another way is to play the 接力赛。 E.g. you may start with 面包 and the child can continuous with 包子 then follow by 子孙 etc.

You may also decide the number of words or which ever you think is desire.

I think this is another way to have fun and gain more words.

Hopefully the information is useful.

                        mummy of 2:

Do share if you get the books, and also if they are worth reading. Thanks 😄
Hi Mummy of 2, I just bought Emile translated by Allan Bloom and 李平沤, i.e. I bought both English and Chinese editions. Several readers commented that Allan Bloom offers the best translation of Rosseau's works, so I bought his edition. As for 李平沤, it's because his is the edition mentioned by 尹老师 but I couldn't find the same publisher. At the same time, I bought John Dewey's Experience and Education (杜威).

I will take quite some time to finish all these books on top of my busy schedule. I always thought I will have lots of time when I become a SAHM but this is not the case. 😢

Will post my thoughts on the books after I have completed them. Wish me luck!
